Food was pretty good, but I gave it 3 instead of 4 stars because tacos did not come with alot and you have to order almost everything separately and for an additional charge of any $1.50 each, so a $3.50 to 3.99 taco can quickly jump to like 6 or $7 plus and the size was not that big. Service I gave a 3 because they got several things wrong or forgot to bring Items and when we mentioned mistakes waitress seemed annoyed, so when I noticed my steak taco was then on corn instead of the flour tortilla that I ordered, I just ate it.... which I shouldn't have felt I had to do. I should have gotten my order correctly the first time and not have had to ask for Pico they forgot, or other taco they forgot, or been scared to ask for napkins or scared to tell her order was made wrong, because she seemed annoyed. Would I try again? Probably...photos of tacos were after I added my add ons... Pico an additional charge, sour cream additional, cheese additional, rice additional, the corn stuff additional etc. The food did have a good flavor though and meat did not taste dry. Cilantro was fresh, which was a bonus. They did double up on their corn tortillas, which I loved because it's less messy and easier to eat.

Te'kela restaurant is located at 5147 Main St in Sylvania Ohio is a local restaurant and the second store in North West Ohio. My rating of three star (ok) is based on the appetizers I had during my 1st visit. The food was only mediocre, the guacamole wasn't seasoned very well, the mini chimichungas were bland, the chicken nachos were the best. I guess I expected more since I know a lot of people who work there and others who have visited and they all had great things to say about the food. For me it's a typical American/Mexican restaurant, far from authentic. In all fairness I must mention that I lived in San Diego for ten years and had access to some of the best Authentic Mexican food in the country. Te' kela's have excellent drink specials, happy hour is very special, they have a kids menu, dessert, it's a nice family restaurant or a trendy place to meet friends for drinks, its a good change of pace. It's definitely worth a try. I reserve the right to edit this review and will do so after I try an entree on my next visit.

Popular, Mexican-themed restaurant featuring many traditional menu-items and drinks. Three main dining areas: a bar area, a live-entertainment area, and a secluded dining room. There are a few screens to watch the games in the bar and live-entertainment rooms. There are also choices of high-top, booths, or regular chair seating. The staff seemed young, but professional and friendly. Service was fine - gets a little slow during busy times. Food was good, portions are generous, and prices are fair. Look for the specials and "happy-hour" deals. I recommend the chicken chili soup, as well as the homemade tortillas with guacamole. There were live performances occurring during my visit, which increased the volume in the room, but not too much to over power table conversation. Worth a visit if you find yourself in Sylvania and you are craving Mexican food.

I live down the road so it is convenient to come to this restaurant, however I would say about half of my experiences at this restaurant have been poor. The first time I came we were sat and no one saw us for 40 minutes. Ironically, again, I went to this location yesterday and again, no one saw us for 40 minutes. The managers were aware of what was going on, watching us not have anyone come to the table, and again, did nothing. The manager took my drink order after 30 minutes, and finally the waitress came. We sat 40 minutes before happy hour ended. We were billed full price for our appetizers. I’m not understanding what happy hour is for if the price would be wrong after this terrible experience. I’ve never seen anything like it. The manger didn’t even want to hear our story of what happened. She just said she fixed the bill. that was it. We again sat for 20 more minutes until the bill was taken up. We finally got a 20 dollar gift card for our 50 dollar meal.

I also asked if the nachos had onion on them. another waitress said in an attitude that if the menu doesn’t say onion, then there is no onion. My nachos came back with onion. When I pointed it out, the waitress told me I was wrong and there was no onion. My family had to point it out off the plate.

I just don’t understand why these servers and managers are trained to argue with the customer when they are clearly the wrong ones. I’ve never seen a restaurant repeatedly argue with me. And to be honest, I have never in my life ever spoke to a manager at any other restaurant. I’m not one to complain and this is my first review ever. This is just unacceptable.

I tried to go back today and ordered a side of the avocado relish. they said on the phone it would be about 5 minutes, and would come with chips and salsa as well. They gave themselves a tip on my bill, and still took 40 minutes to give me a side cup of avocado relish. With no chips or salsa. We asked for the manager again, and we got asked what we wanted and were told we ordered it wrong.

Not to mention they charged me a higher price than the website states. I asked about it and they corrected me saying it would be a higher price. The menu clearly states a lower price. Not to even mention them giving themselves a tip automatically for my togo order. A 25% tip.

What I don’t understand about this place is that most restaurants take accountability, and however this restaurant will argue with the customer about why we are upset. They take no...

We went early for ppl watching & happy hour. Got there at 4:30 on a Friday & got 2 of last 4 seats around bar (which is HUGE). We were served pretty quickly & provided free chips & salsa. Even though it was super busy the entire 2 hours we stayed, the bartender/server was very informative abt any ?s we asked & even brought me extra simple syrup to sweeten my 1st drink (premium margarita-very generous on alcohol so I needed to cut it for my taste). We had chicken quesidillia (sp?) w/BBQ wings, guac, & the cheese/bean dip. Best drink was the ORGANIC MARGARITA! Toward 5ish there was live music a really good singer playing. The bill was very reasonable (happy hour prices for most) & the bartender/server was very honest when I ordered 1 item not 1/2 off- so not tricky at all. I even noticed a customer who got a take out not yet boxed & the bartender/server quickly rectified the situation herself & let him know it was no trouble. Really nice to see kindness even in a busy atmosphere. I would highly recommend it for ppl AND sport watching (lots of TV around bar) and a fun, friendly atmosphere. I get why its always packed when we drive by! I asked when it starts to get busy (she said they start getting ppl as early as 2:30- 3 & by 4 it's busy. Go early to get a seat at...

I'm gonna start by saying I love this place and there food is amazing however our last visit we had a party of 4 and they sit us in the first dining area to the left of the bar and to say it was hot and stuffy would be an understatement they have a thermostat on the wall that was reading 82 degrees and no fans or air movement anywhere so they have a back room that was much cooler so we asked the manager if we could move there and she told us they needed to keep that open for party's of 8 even though there were 3 tables in the area we were sitting in that could accommodate 8 and they were empty I feel with a customer that is a regular to your establishment and brings people all the time to dine there you would try to accommodate them better very poor service from the manager and a bad decision from this restaurant to not accommodate a regular so the end result was we told them we were leaving and that we couldn't eat there it was way too hot and the manager said ok no problem like it was no big deal that we were leaving so me and my friends left and went to San Marcos where it was a comfortable 70 degrees it's a shame but I guess if you don't have a party of 8 this is a winter only restaurant but me and everyone I bring there won't be back in the...
