Donatos Pizza — Restaurant in Symmes Township

The pizza this last time I had ordered a large pizza with pepperoni and extra cheese. Part of the pizza was burnt, there was hardly any cheese yet alone extra. I was very disappointed. When we used to get from Blue Ash we never had issues but with the Harpers Point location we live 2 minutes away so it is convenient but it seems they lack in consistency. Prior to this incident the last one was good but the time before that The large Mariachi chicken pizza we ordered was order was incorrect and the chicken was dry and rubbery. It is as if you get a 50/50 shot on quality here. We have debated on going back to Blue Ash or getting Jett's Pizza on Montgomery Rd instead. Two years ago when we were helping my dad at his house we found small hairs on our pizza and when I called they apologized and the man said that the hair was from his dogs and must have came off his shirt which I found odd. He offered to replace it at that time but I was too grossed out and didn't eat from there for almost a year before trying again. I just wish I could get a great quality pizza and friendly customer service from Harpers Point. One cashier there always seems annoyed and doesn't want to be there and this isn't just having a bad day because I have seen it while waiting for my order and others paying their check treated just like myself on several occasions. I would let someone know Donatos is right there but at this point in time I wouldn't recommend it. We used to eat from the Blue Ash store once a week but Harpers Point seems to unreliable. One of the laziest Donatos restaurants I've ever experienced..EVER! I thought it might have been a fluke during my first encounter, it was not. I gave them 2 times to convince me wrong.

The first time I ordered at this Donatos, it was for delivery during the covid19 pandemic. Driver knocked on the door and ran away. My order was essentially dropped on ground when I opened door. My blood was boiling but I was also glad the driver didn't stay for a tip.

The second time I ordered online and choose carryout to avoid the delivery fee and a careless driver showing up at my door again. I bought a pizza and a 5pc order of buffalo wings. Sounded good at the time but there were only 3 wings!

Actually, the carryout experience was probably worse. During the time I was in the restaurant I picked up a lot of cues. One of the workers came in from their cigarette break; maybe not a big deal by itself but my order wasn't ready at the time that receipt said it would. No one was really friendly or attentive to the customers. Fast-forward another 10 min, I get my order. I didn't find out until I drove all the way home that I was missing wings in my order. Needless to say I shouldn't have to tell them they missed two buffalo wings.

Given the series of bad experiences, I don't trust who manages this location enough to even complain. I didn't want them spitting on the missing wings out of retaliation because they couldn't count to 5. I love Donatos Pizza. I do not like to order online because I order pizzas with very very light sauce and there is no where to enter it - you can do light sauce - but not almost none. The Donatos Pizza on Cincinnati Dayton Road never answers their phones - I wait to order my pizza on hold for over 40 minutes and finally just drive there to get it, Every 10 minutes the phones cuts off and you have to dial back in. I put a complaint similar to this 3 weeks ago and still no change.

I got a call from Donatos - I assume about my review - and I could not take the call because I was on a call for work. 10 minutes later I tried to call them back during the day - not at night - and it just rang and it me on hold for 10 minutes and then disconnected me. Did this 2 times - still no answer.

This will be the last time I get pizza from here for a while. My grandkids love it - but I can eat any pizza from anywhere - this just happens to be one my favorites. I hate online ordering and I want to order from a real person. This is the only pizza place around me that I cannot get ahold of. Jetts answers, Raymonds answers, Dominoes answers, even Little Ceasers answers and make the pizza the way I want it.
