Yesterday morning I woke up in the apartment of one of my best friends after arriving in Tacoma for the first time to visit them. When we finally had enough motor skills to walk, we wandered up the road to Cosmonaut Coffee. This was hands down, one of the absolute best experiences I have ever had in a coffee shop. So much so that this morning we came back just so I could get another cup before I leave. I have been drinking coffee for over 20 years and this was one of the greatest cups of coffee I have tasted. I donât know the name of the barista working but it was the same person who made our coffee yesterday and today. This morning I caught myself just staring in amazement as they prepared the drinks my friends and I ordered. It was very clear how much care, attention and pride they took in making a great cup of coffee. I wish I lived in Tacoma just for the simple desire to come here every morning to experience the artistry and craftsmanship in...
Read moreMy wife and I always look for independant coffee shops when traveling and our go to drink is a cappuccino (european style, nothing served in a large cup/mug). The one's served by Pat and his crew are nothing short of amazing. The milk and espresso served is the most beautiful silky crema. During our short stay in Tacoma, we frequented this spot regularly and the owner was quick to remember us and our drink order; great customer service. The place is quirky in its decor, but who doesn't like a little quirky. Agree with other comments that Wright Park is a nice place for a stroll to stretch the legs. If you are visiting people in the nearby hospitals, skip the 'chain' coffee served inside, get outside, stretch the legs, walk the 5 minutes to Cosmonaut and treat yourself to an experience and maybe even a walk in Wright Park, you won't be...
Read moreI found this little coffee shop on a whim and I was pleasantly surprised at how friendly the owner was and just the entire chill laid back vibe in there. After I was that corny person who didnât notice all of the âno white chocolate mochaâ signs and attempted to order one, I ordered a caramel macchiato and got a really fun and unique history lesson on the origins of Tacoma from the owner while I waited. Some regulars chimed in and I really enjoyed the friendly open atmosphere from people who you could tell come there allot and love the place. It kind of looks like a watering hole for older guys to hang out but itâs just coffee, and very good coffee at that! Strong but still artfully crafted. Check this place out if you want some really good coffee with some old school grit and heart from a long time...
