Domino's Pizza — Restaurant in Tacoma

Best Staff, Best Service! Let me start with on the overall, I am not a big Dominos fan, but, the people I work with love it, and it is their go to place to order. When this location was down on Washington, I could not have written this review. They lived up to my opinion of the name. Ordering was always a hassle, the store was gross, pizza always late, and a little rubbery. Ok, now to THIS store. The staff is incredible. The pizza was on time, super fresh, hot and really good! In one visit I am a convert. I needed a fairly large order for a shortly after opening on Sunday for an event at work. I knew that I could not do a large order or future delivery on line, and as previously mentioned, my attempts to work with the staff on the phone in the past (Washington st location) was not even remotely successful. So I stopped in. First it is a reasonably new store, but it is spot clean. I was greeted immediately, and told it would be just a moment, no problem. A young guy, reasonably new came over to help, as soon as I said I needed a large future order, the guy in the back (listening) came forward, asked if he knew how to do it, he didn't, so the more experienced employee helped me out. It was still a little bit of a conundrum, but it was all dealt with smiles and professionalism. We got it all worked out, and someone from the store would call me on Sunday to get my credit card info (the system will not let you pay for a future order). I was a little stressed because again, haven't had the best of luck. When I had not heard from anyone, I called after they opened, and just gave them my card, really not their job to call me anyway, but I just wanted to make sure everything was going to go as planned. Anyway, I got this handled, again, with polite, professional and upbeat staff. The pizza was there within a few minutes of my requested time, the delivery driver, was just simply the sweetest. When I asked if there was a detail receipt in addition to the CC charge sheet she said no, I asked if there was anyway I could get one, I needed it for reimbursement. She said no problem, I will email it to you. Just put a good email on the back of the receipt and you will have it by the end of the day. I did as she said, and you know what....when I opened my email this morning, she did what she said. If you ever doubt that a single positive experience can turn a customer's opinion around, you need to think again. This one interaction, has completely changed my opinion, why, because it was not just one person, the entire experience was exceptional, and that says that this store is on point. Just made an online order for 2 Pastas from thie 54th & Washington location on 7/30/2017. I have been ordering from this location for nearly 20 years and there's been ups and downs. This evening however, I ordered 1 Chicken Alfredo Pasta and 1 Build Your Own Pasta for my son and his girlfriend. Driver showed up, nice and friendly guy, he gave us our food. We paid/tipped him and he left. My son grabbed the box that was labeled with "BYO" according to the way he ordered his pasta and proceeded to douse it with hot sauce and several other spices. His girlfriend grabbed the other box which was labeled simply as "Alfredo Pasta." Started eating and realized she had the wrong pasta. She doesn't like Italian sausage or mushroom in her pasta. At this point she was disappointed because she had nothing to eat. I called the store to explain that the orders had been boxed wrong. The gentleman that initially took the call seemed to lack the ability to be able to solve customer complaints. I was passed off to someone whom I was told was a manager. Briefly explained my problem too him and he asked me to hold. Ten seconds later CLICK! I call back and a gentleman answers the phone and tells me he's been instructed to close out my order. I asked repeatedly several times to speak with the manager - CLICK!! I call back the third time to speak with the manager and again the gentleman on the phone said he was instructed to close my order out. After insisting to speak with the manager several times - CLICK!!

I used to work in the food service industry managing a restaurant. I understand it's stressful and I know all too well what it's like to deal with unsatisfied customers. What I can't understand is how a manager could be so gutless that he would use his subordinates as a buffer to shirk his own job responsibilities. Always forgetting sauce cups, choc milk and other items. Dough never rises, its always flat and chewy/wet. Everyone is polite, that is not enough though.

Done spending our money at this location, they don't take pizza serious.

Update: 12/22/2015 We gave them one last chance, forgot our sauce cups that we wanted and paid for, never going back to this store.

They couldn't give me a free product at this point, done done! Gonna try Pizza Hut next, maybe Papa John's too?

Really bummed about this, but they don't seem to care :(

It's really a shame that the owner of the store spent all that money remodeling only to have the Managers and Crew throw an awesome opportunity down the drain.

UPDATE: January 27, 2016 6:45PM Just did an online order because the wife REALLY wanted the Spinach and Feta Cheesbread, but 'Zach" called and said it will be 2 hours for delivery and persisted to talk me out of ordering... REALLY? They don't want our business?

I heard someone in the background saying something about the "notes" in the computer on my account, this may be jumping to conclusions but I suspect they are retaliating for this very review, seems like they already have my name and address and apparently some "notes" on their computer system.

All this behavior really makes me fear food tampering if I were to ever order again. We have now truly and forever lost complete trust in this locations competence.

While we'll likely still order from Dominos, it's a shame that we will have to drive past this location to get our order, but on the other side of the coin I just found out that the Lakewood, WA store has...
