Frisky Freeze is a must-visit burger joint for anyone in the area! My recent visit left me blown away by their delicious fish sandwich and incredible chocolate malt. The restaurant has a quaint and charming atmosphere that transports you back in time, making for a unique and enjoyable dining experience. I ordered the fish sandwich and was impressed with the quality of the fish. It was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and the bun was perfectly toasted. The toppings were fresh and flavorful, and the tartar sauce was the perfect addition. The sandwich was so good that I could hardly believe it came from a burger joint! To wash it down, I ordered a chocolate malt, and it was absolutely heavenly. The malt was creamy and rich, and the chocolate flavor was spot-on. It was the perfect complement to my fish sandwich and made for a satisfying and delicious meal. The staff at Frisky Freeze were friendly and accommodating, making me feel right at home. The restaurant was clean and well-maintained, and I felt safe and comfortable dining there. Overall, Frisky Freeze is an excellent burger joint that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great meal. Their fish sandwich and chocolate malt were standout dishes that left me wanting more, and I can't wait to come back and try some of their other menu items. If you're in the area, make sure to give Frisky Freeze a visit – you won't be disappointed!

Every burger fan has a favorite greasy spoon dive. Mine is Frisko Freeze. It isn’t perfect or consistent, but they make a great burger, fries, and shake. I also can't deny that a strong part of the allure is Frisko’s place in my family history. My Dad brought me here first when I was 7 years old after being a regular during his days at Stadium High School after his father had introduced him when it opened in 1950. For those of us with this heritage, Frisko will always be special. We enjoy the ritual of ordering at the window and standing in the parking lot waiting for our order to be called. Then sitting in our car while enjoying the aromas as we unwrap the burger mess contained in each wax paper bag. It's wonderful. But even setting that aside, Frisko Freeze has a great burger, simply made on a griddle, cooked with the bun perched on top and dressed in Goop sauce (look it up) with the lettuce mixed and onions mixed in. It’s greasy goodness with a pleasing aroma and I’m here for that. For the uninitiated, there is no seating here, indoor or outdoor. Just a parking lot with a dozen spots, a walk up window and short drive through lane. You can order ahead too. Is this the best you'll ever have? Maybe not, but it doesn't matter if you love it like regulars do. Just give it a chance. You might have your own favorite, but I'm sure you will appreciate ours.

Honestly couldn't even tell you the review on the food at this point. Because I'm so upset with the fact that we parked went inside to the building across the street came out. Ordered food and realized that my car was getting picked up by a tow truck. When I spoke to the person inside about it, she smocked at me, laughed at my daughter's face and then proceeded to say, yeah, we don't allow people to park from the hospital. Mind you. The hospital is for an orthopedic surgeon. For children, so this place is boycotted 100%. If you're going to do that to mom's or family members that are taking care of their children up in an orthopedic surgeon, and you're gonna treat them. This way you will never see my service again. And I hope nobody else goes and helps them out. It's disgusting to treat people like this. And I was not I've been gone from my vehicle that long. And then turned around and gave money to this company that wanted to have my car towed. And to add to that, there was other vehicles that were still sitting there. When we left and came back, so they pinpointed the only vehicle with brand new plates on it. UpdateThe food was garbageThe burger buns were burnt on the bottom and the fries were way too salty. Again across the street from a child's hospital have some coup

Classic Culinary Love Affair at Frisko Freeze - A Hidden Gem in Tacoma

There's something to be said about simplicity done right, and that's precisely what you'll find at Frisko Freeze. A local staple that has stood the test of time in Tacoma, this charming drive-in brings to the table an undeniable nostalgia, accompanied by an exceptional menu that consistently hits the mark.

From the moment you pull up to Frisko Freeze, you're taken on a delightful journey back in time. Its retro style is not just about aesthetics, it also permeates the very essence of the service and food quality, offering a robust, simple, yet exquisitely done culinary experience.

Let's talk about the highlight of the Frisko Freeze menu - the burgers. These are the type of burgers that set the standard for fast food. Unpretentious, yet brimming with flavor, their secret lies in the perfect blend of high-quality meat, fresh veggies, and a lightly toasted bun. Each bite is a testament to the care and love put into the preparation. The taste is never masked with excessive sauces or spices, allowing you to fully enjoy the hearty flavor of a perfectly cooked patty.

The shakes at Frisko Freeze are, without a doubt, the cherry on top. Creamy and rich, they're a throwback to the time when milkshakes were more than a side drink. Their texture is thick yet smooth, the sweetness impeccably balanced, and the flavor options cater to everyone's taste. A personal favorite is the classic chocolate shake – an all-time classic that is simply divine at Frisko Freeze.

Service at Frisko Freeze is fast, efficient, and coupled with the warmth of a family-owned business. There's an inherent kindness and welcome feel that makes you want to come back, aside from the delicious food.

All in all, Frisko Freeze is not just a drive-in; it's a memorable culinary experience that blends the retro charm with excellent food quality. This Tacoma gem rightfully holds its place in the hearts of locals and tourists alike. Whether you're a first-timer or a regular customer, one thing is certain - a visit to Frisko Freeze will leave you...

Oh Man I'm tellin ya's!!! Went to Frisko Freeze in Tacoma for my first visit. The wait was rather long and the line of Customer's was rather large. I thought to myself, "Hmm! There must be a GOOD reason behind this crowd." So I waited for my order--- a A Triple Burger with added Mayo + BBQ Sauce (Which I should not have added the BBQ). Anyway, I also ordered their Onion Rings. I waited about 17 minutes with the rest of the Fans out in the parking lot. It had a 50's Vibe going on. Awesome I LOVED it! Well, my order came up, and off to the Shoreline at Ruston Way I went. Sat there seeing the beautiful Ocean and fisher-people on the Les Davis Pier. How I LOVE thee Ocean. I opened up and found my Onion rings first and BOY WAS I EVER PLEASED!! FRESH as can be and LARGE sizes. OMG they were SOOOO GOOD!!! I wrestled out of the package the Burger and once again WoW! I took one bite into it and my internal WOLF was instantly triggered. I ravished it non-stop until it was ALL GONE BYE BYE! Mmmmm!!! They were EXCELLENCE at Its finest! BEST ONION RINGS EVER!!! They got my Top vote. I didn't do the Burger justice when I had them ADD BBQ Sauce. I should have let that out of the picture. However, it was still a FANTASTIC Burger. I'll be going there again today on my way to my new adventure for this weekend. :--)) Cheers mates! I HIGHLY recommend this Frisko Freeze near the Kaiser Specialty Center- Just West up the main road 19th I believe. It's like two short blocks away from Kaiser and the New Children's Hospital being Built. And nearby Stadium High School where Val Kilmer was in w movie as I recall. In his early days. Always Sir Nicholas of Vashon. I'll let ya's know how that Burger is without thee additional BBQ sauce when I get back...

At the risk of making a hyperbolic claim, this may be the finest burger in the Pacific Northwest. Frisko Freeze has all the old school charm one could ask for with friendly service and a no-frills menu. If you aren't intrigued by the iconic neon sign, then you will be forever enveloped by their fries.

While the smash burger may be all the rage today, Frisko Freeze offers a classic burger that predates any hyped up thin patty sandwich that are oversaturated in today's market. Let the airy and soft bun soak up all the grease and fats from the meat and cheese, take a bite, and immerse yourself in this heavenly blessing. There may be no better opportunity to do so within a 500 mile radius.

A trilogy could be written about the burger, the fries, and the shakes, but that would also require a sequel trilogy for their seafood offerings which I have not personally tried. The fries are perfect, no further comment. The shakes absolutely crush it too - seasonal offerings are available, as well as some tried and true staples. The hot fudge milkshake is just as it sounds; a classic shake flavored with hot fudge, so simple you will wonder why you have never tried it before.

This is a small restaurant serving a lot of customers, so you will likely have to wait your turn. The folks working the kitchen and register are polite and expedient, so it doesn't feel like a long wait. Besides, once your food arrives the only reflection you will have regarding time lapsed will be regret that you did not eat at Frisko Freeze...
