I used the kiosk to order, forgoing the line at the counter. After paying, the screen told me to take a “table tent” from the stack and type the number of the “table tent” into the field on the screen. After confirming my “table tree” number was 6, I was told to take it to my table and wait for my food to arrive. After waiting at the table with my friend for 20 minutes and having seen many people come in after us and get their orders before us, we started thinking something was messed up with our order. I talked to a passing employee who looked at us and asked if we’d gotten our food yet. I responded that we hadn’t and also that the kiosk didn’t print me a receipt. She got the manager, a younger guy whose name escapes me at the moment. He asked what happened and what our order had been. When asked if we had the receipt I replied that one wasn’t printed but that it would surely show up on my bank account shortly. This was a quick, rushed exchange and the manager walked off looking like he was going to fix the situation. After walking away, and unbeknownst to us at the time, he decided that without a receipt the issue was dead but didn’t relay this to us as we sat and waited. We waited another 10 minutes giving them an opportunity to fix this before my friend, seeing my frustration, decided to check on the order. They weren’t making it. And they weren’t going to tell us they weren’t making it. They were just going to let us sit there expecting the food they were not making to show up for the order that I paid for but couldn’t prove. After that, I talked to the manager myself and explained again, in detail, the sequence of events. He assured me that since no receipt had printed and that since the charges hadn’t shown up on my bank statement within this 30-40 minute time period then transaction hadn’t gone through and not to worry. I let him know that’s not how things worked and that it would show up much later. He told me to come back and get a refund later, then. I don’t live in Tacoma. And how do I prove I never got the food if I were to go back now that the $23.22 charges have appeared on my bank statement? And why would it be worth it to drive all the way to this McDonald’s to recoup that money when it would cost me more than that to drive back home? Needless to say, this wasn’t handled well by the manager. I’m certain there’s a way to have checked their system for orders that were made and paid for but somehow got lost in their system. The thing that really frustrated me most was the manager’s lack of communication in addressing and resolving this problem and his complete willingness to let two customers sit at a table wasting their time while he didn’t attempt to solve the problem or tell us he wasn’t going to solve it. I told him so before leaving and now that the charges have posted to my account I thought I’d leave this personal account for anyone who’s thinking about eating here. Not to mention, screaming kids the whole time throwing food and toys everywhere....
Read more...So it was our first time visiting this McDonald's, it didn't have a PlayPlace and I kind of thought we should have skipped it... my five-year-old was misbehaving, kind of just talking back because there's a mall next to McDonald's and he really wanted to go to the mall... so for the end of our visit maybe the last 5 or 10 minutes my son is being ornery and adamant about going to the mall... I just continually discussed with him how his behavior is not mall behavior and it's not McDonald's behavior, and we won't be going anywhere if he continued to behave the way he was behaving... so we got all of our coats on, we're a family of five which includes two toddlers, a five-year-old and a teenager... as we walk out the door literally half a stroller in and out the door, two elderly white women had something very nasty to say, I missed it but my teenager caught it... then the woman told me that my children were uncontrolled and uncontrollable, I replied to her that "it's ironic that yoy would have anything to say about control over a five-year-old when your close to 65 and couldn't control or hold your nasty comment until we actually left the McDonald's... she then told me that I condone their behavior and that "they were little monsters and they were going to grow up to be monsters"... I pulled my stroller back in and refrained from doing everything that crossed my mind and told the woman that "since I'm a Christian woman, I won't do what I think I want to do but what I will do though, is just have a second meal and sit right next to you and your friend"... as we were about to sit down a McDonald's employee came over and asked if there was a problem... I explained to the employee what the woman said to me and my children and that I felt that maybe we should just have a second meal... the old woman that didn't say anything hurried up and said oh she never said anything about her children being monsters and the old woman who said it said no I said nothing like that but she most definitely said everything like that... and they stood up and started cleaning their table Gathering their coffee and the employee at McDonald's told the women, " I can't have you talking to the customers like that"... they told them McDonald's employee, "don't worry about it, we were leaving anyway, they can have their second meal they're probably on welfare." The McDonald's employees mouth dropped and express to those women that they are not allowed to talk to anybody in the McDonald's like that and those women left... Thank You to the McDonald's employee that sticking up for me and my family as we were being berated and embarrassed buy two elderly white women who are quite judgmental about a five-year-old doing what a five-year-old does when they misbehave...Thank You for apologizing for those women's behavior which you never had to, it was not your fault. I'm sorry that you have...
Read moreOk, let's start with the statement that this is NOT about the quality of the food, because McDonald's food sucks and in 10 out of 10 times not made right, or with care, or even close.
This is about the garbage that is this restaurant's crew and management.
We had a photoshoot late at night last night and so by the time it was done there were no real options for food, other than 24hr fast food, and this McDonald's was the closest open one to where our shoot was.
Of course only the drive thru was open (and this wasn't bad or a surprise). When we got to put in our order, we ordered something simple: 3 Triple Cheeseburgers no pickle. Apparently this particular location doesn't offer triple cheeseburgers on the menu. They put it in as 3 McDoubles with no pickle extra patty.
For those not aware, a McDouble is a Double Cheeseburger with only 1 slice of cheese. Not what we ordered or wanted. There IS a double cheeseburger on the menu, and as such he could have put that in with the extra patty. But that didn't happen, so one slice of cheese, and no onions, just ketchup and mustard.
When we get to the window, we double checked with the person handing us our food. They assured us that indeed they were three McDoubles with extra patties. We checked before we even got out of the parking lot. The burgers had the printouts that said "McDouble Xtra Patty, but the contents were just standard McDoubles without pickle, so at least they got that right.
We then proceeded to go BACK through the drive-thru because that was the only way to get this fixed, as you can't go inside. So it's now been over 30 minutes, before we can get to a window, and the shift manager, or assistant, I don't know what she was other than dumb as a stump, I just know she wasn't wearing the standard grey uniform for this location like everyone else.
Her solution? To go add a patty to the cold and now somewhat hard McDoubles that they messed up. This wasn't acceptable and we told her so. We got parked so they could keep shoveling food out to the other cars, and we finally got our food. When we checked it, it wasn't properly put together, the cheese was mostly hanging off the burgers, and for being "fresh" they weren't very warm.
The fact that a manager thought taking incorrect and by then cold food, and slapping another patty on it, was sufficient to fix this is just garbage, but then so is the restaurant. I'll be calling the actual location to give them my thoughts on it. My advice, avoid this location except MAYBE during Lunch/Dinner prime time when they should have the best crew...
