Okay, just wow. So the girlfriend and I did our normal random drive after getting our coffee and we ended up here. Was definitely not disappointed! This nature center looks like they offer classes/activities for young children, which I think is super cool, but we got such a kick out of it too. Chipmunks, squirrels, hummingbirds, ducks, ducklings, frogs, and a blue heron we're all out today. We met a lovely individual who called himself Cyclone Kenneth and he was telling us about turtles often lining themselves up on the log near the first bridge. The path around snake lake I don't know if it would be considered ADA friendly but the path was fairly hard packed and smooth so it might be. I'll put some photos in here to give people an idea. Read moreI have to give it a 5 star cuz I'm on oxygen and the lower trail was perfect. I walked a mile and didn't even noticed. It amazes me how much children talk about stuff when out walking. On the trail there is pictures of all the different planets. I don't know why, could only guess for something to read while out waIking. My grandson wouldn't stop talking about life on other planets, how we have to find another planet to live on cuz earth is gonna blow up in 1000 years, apparently seen a show about it. Read moreThis is a really great area for exploring nature, especially if you have little kids. It is very toddler friendly, you can do a 0.5 mile pretty much flat loop which is always a great start for little legs. Then when you’re done you can play at the park-like playground at the Tacoma Nature Center! They have a really cool log slide, a climbing wall and some random logs to play in and on.
