O'Malley's Irish Pub — Restaurant in Tacoma

I went here last night for my 21st Birthday (WOOO!) :P anyways I told the lady bartender I was Irish and it was my birthday hoping to get a free drink as I have heard from many a people you recieve on your 21st because I thought bar wanted my business...in a condescending way she smiled and asked what I wanted to buy then saying a straight out lie "its illegal to give out free alcohol in Washington" I brushed it off best I could thinking it was probably the manager making her say that. Curious, I googled it and it plainly states that on special occasions(such as a Birthday) and to make up for bad service bars can give out free drinks. So if you are planning on going to this place for a good time on you birthday be prepared to be shot down and your vibe killed when all I was trying to do was get what everyone brags about getting on there 21st birthday. The service here needs MAJOR improvement. The older male bartender comes off like he’s upset that you came in to support your local business & made him do his job. I was here before covid & he was rude to me then too so I know it wasn’t just a bad day.

Anyways, I came back, again on just to be treated the same way.

The girls working have also ignored, walking past me after serving me knowing I wanted food because I asked for a menu. They stand behind the bar on their phones, walk around acting like they are serving but don’t. I was watching and a lot of people were waiting when it wasn’t busy.

I’ll be back for to go orders ONLY food was bomb.

Never again do I want to bring my friends or service to a bar who act like they don’t...

I'll start by saying that I was happy with my whole experience here. But what I want to rave about and recommend to anyone reading this is their onion rings!! Honestly the best onion rings I ever remember eating. If you like onion rings at all then definitely order them here. You can get them as your side with any sandwich or burger. They were so perfectly crispy on the outside. So amazingly crispy. And then they just melt in your mouth. Which I know sounds kinda weird for an onion ring, but just trust me! You know how a lot of onion rings you try to take a bite but only the breading comes off in your mouth and you're left with unbreaded onion? These did not do that at all. And I would suggest getting the "fry sauce" to dip...
