Went here for the first time tonight, ordered takeout. We ordered Almond Chicken, Pork Donburi, spicy tuna roll and the fish love roll. Came out to $89. The man working was nice enough to give us a discount which brought it down to $80. As well as a free āsaladā and gyoza. I say āsaladā because it was literally thinly sliced cabbage, the same stuff they use for garnishes and plating⦠but I also thought salad and rice comes with teriyaki normally. The gyoza was the only good thing we got. The almond chicken was weird, large cuts of onion, bell pepper, and carrots not the almond chicken I thought it was⦠but not a big deal, we decided to try and eat it anyways but unfortunately everything was mushy, the chicken was all batter and itās drenched in. Fried rice was also dry and flavorless. The pork donburi was such a disappointment, Iām pretty sure they also gave me beef. The just threw teriyaki sauce on top as well as carrots onions and bell pepper, never had donburi like that. It was topped with a handful of seaweed, overall just didnāt taste good and no runny egg on top. The sushi all around was a disappointment, super fishy tasting and mushy, poorly rolled, fell apart when you picked it up. We really wanted to love this place because the man working was so nice and we saw they had 4.6 stars but were hugely disappointed. We called them and told them about our food he offered for us to come back and give us a new pork donburi but we told him we didnāt want to drive all the way back and asked for a simple refund, he then insisted we come back next week for a free meal but I donāt think we will be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf I could do half stars, I would give 3.5. Generally the food is not bad, but Iām not impressed by how much corner cutting is involved. We went on a Sunday afternoon, it was quiet, and we ordered ramen with pork, egg flower wonton soup, sake sushi roll, Sidney roll, and the Tokyo roll.
The ramen was basic. They make their own broth which was not bad, but the pork was teriyaki meat and tasted like teriyaki which really didnāt complement the ramen flavor.
The egg flower soup was very good except for the āwontons.ā They were gyoza pork dumplings instead of actual wontons. Itās a smart way to save money by stretching gyoza in more ways, but the taste of the filling did not go well with the soup in my opinion. So I ate around them.
The sushi was all very good. The Sidney roll wasnāt rolled very tightly and it fell apart easily but all the sushi tasted great. The wasabi is colored horseradish and they give you a huge dollop of it. It probably wouldnāt cost too much more to give a small dollop of real wasabi. You donāt need to use much real wasabi to get the kick you need, and the horseradish had next to none.
In conclusion, it was a fairly satisfying meal but we donāt plan...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe food was fine. Prices are high everywhere. And for $15 for a lunch portion with a couple of gyoza, it's already on the high end of budget. I eat Teriyaki 3 times a week at places all over King and Pierce. This is the 1st time asking for hot sauce was $1. Didn't want a cup, just a little squirt, which most dine-in places just have a bottle on the table. They usually say its the cost of the container, which i didn't want, and is usually more than I need. The server wouldn't budge. She wanted to compare Taco Bell's sour cream upsells as justification. They give you all the hot sauce you want! Sour cream is an extremely short shelf-life product, they can only order so much and it will go bad. Same with guacamole. Siracha and similar goes forever. Doesnt compare. This is getting ridiculous. Just have a bottle available, and let the customers add the condiment to their overpriced chicken and rice and let...
