I normally don't leave reviews often anymore but I have to say this was a very awkward, weird and unpleasant experience. My family wanted burgers and we all are done with normal fast food chains but my brother mentioned SONICS, I remember years ago it wasn't to bad, so we decided to order online for pick up. First time useing this feature and sounded convenient, instructions are after you place and PAY for your order online to drive into a stall and press the red button to notify them that you are there. I pull up to the stall press button and a man comes on the intercom and says words I could not understand and hangs up. So I press it again and same thing he mumbles so fast and hangs up. I'm like hmmm this is strange. Another customer pulls in to the stall right next to me and same exact thing happens to her. I asked her what the heck did he say and she too had no idea. I was like forget all this I'm going up to the door to talk to someone. I approach the door and knock and a guy stares at me and continues working. I walked over to the drive thru and a younger woman is there stares at me aswell and walks away. I'm looking in and there all just standing there. I say through the glass, "hey I placed an online order that I already paid for", again blank stares. After about 2 minutes a woman comes out of the side door and asks what I was doing. I said "I'm here to pick up my order that I placed and paid for online" and gave her my name. I mentioned the mumbling guy over the intercom and that I couldn't understand a word he said. She acknowledges and asked if I have a vehicle. "Yes mam like I said I'm parked over there in a stall trying to figure out what's going on", She says they have my food but she can not give it to me until I drive around! I'm right here right now. Wouldn't it be easier to hand me our order and be on my way? I'm irritated but whatever I get back in my car at the stall, pull around to the drive through wait for another customer in front and a younger female opens the window and asks me what I'm doing. I'm here to pick up my order! Gives me our 3 drinks. I ask for a drink caddy and she is like what is that you mean a drink carrier? Very rude demeanor. Get the food say thank you have a good night. No thank you have a nice night back from the young female employee. Food was awful, in all honesty the burgers were almost fishy tasting, fries cold no salt, out of the 3 burgers none of us finished them. Only thing that was pretty good were the milkshakes. All in all a really bad experience with a bad taste in my mouth literally. I don't remember customer service being this bad. Times are changing forsure....
Read moreDisorganized. I got the large chicken sandwich. I hate to think how small the regular chicken sandwich is. At least fifty per cent breading, which was fried to a crunchy texture. Some of the chicken breast was less than a quarter of an inch thick. I think they were out of the largel chicken and served a small to me. Nothing was bad but nothing was really good. I won't give them another chance. The owner of the store sent a message to me on here. There was a link included which wasn't working. But that's impressive that they responded so quickly. In light of that I'll give more information. I think Sonic is from California. The first one i saw was in Texas. They moved into the east coast, gosh, must have been in the eighties. What i remember is multiple milk shake flavors. I don't remember car hops in Daytona Sonic. To me that was the best of the fifties a hopping burger joint with car service. I fully appreciate how hard it is to run a franchise. Since i was in the drive thru i didn't get to look inside. Most of the fast food places are take out only since COVID. But the exterior was clean and tidy and showed no disrepair. I'm not sure if the exact time, but i bought the ferry ticket back to the island at 11:03. So i was ordering lunch between 10:30 and 10:45. A personable, even friendly sounding young lady took our order thru the intercom. We pulled to the window, and she was friendly and pert. I gave her the wrong card, she ran the other one and i asked if i could pay in cash, there was a "no change available" sign. And i had just realized that they could keep the change. She had given us our drinks and walked away, i was assuming to get the food, when another young man came up and started to pour out drinks again. I told him we already had them. I heard her saying it from the rear of the kitchen, "they've already paid". At that point we waited. The cars (3) stacked up behind us. I offered to pull around so they could be served. Maybe it was break time, maybe she had an emergency maybe the chicken was frozen. So i mentioned the crispy crunchy breading, really well done. The two ounce chicken portion was a joke. The French fries had a peculiar flavor. I was thinking fried fish? From the oil. There was a crisp leaf of lettuce and a slice of tomato. So unless i went to a nearby high school and knew the kids that worked there and there was a party in the parking lot. The food just didn't cut it. The root beer was good and he gave me a refill since i drank the first one waiting. Great TV ads...
Read moreUnfortunately, my experience at this Sonic was terrible. I ordered on the app so when I pulled into the stall I checked in and waited. I got there pretty early so I expected to be waiting for a bit before they could get me my order. So 20 minutes in I didn't mind that it hadn't been brought out yet but I did decide to press the red button to find out how long I'd be waiting. No response. Another 20 minutes in and I noticed that the drivers in the stalls next to me started getting out and exclaiming as they went up to the Sonic window to find out what was taking so long with THEIR food. Rude. I felt bad for the employees because no matter how long you're waiting, there is no excuse for rudeness and aggressive behaviour. I pressed the red button again. No response. My boyfriend walked up to the window and politely asked what was going on. The employee said they were a bit backed up but would bring out our stuff as soon as possible. He returned to the car and we continued to wait. It's been over an hour at this point and I hear an employee yelling over the speakers in the stalls that the stalls are closed to everyone pressing the red button. And I mean legitimate YELLING. So I walk up to the window and ask what's going on, informing the employee that I ordered online and have been waiting over an hour. The employee gets the manager who comes and checks my order receipt and says she will go in and find it. She comes out with my order after about 30 seconds. I take it to the car and it is all completely cold. It is very apparent that it was ready AT LEAST 40 minutes ago. We decide to eat it anyway because we dont want to wait for them to remake it but they forgot one of the milkshakes. I figure its a quivk thing so I walk up to the window and knock. Multiple employees look at me then turn away. I wait 5 minutes then knock again. They ignore me. An employee comes out to take an order to another car and when he comes back he says "what are you waiting for now?" as if I was only there to bother him. As if ashamed of myself I lower my head and say, "I'm sorry but we're missing a shake" at which point he huffs and goes inside. Another few minutes and he brings it out. I went back to my car. I cannot believe the experience. I'm pretty passive about food services because I've worked retail and totally get that customers are jerks most of the time so I always make sure that I'm not but this was...
