Second review I'm not sure why you're asking me for another review. I literally just took an order from there and stood outside in the cold again two nights ago I got stuck in the rain. It sucks. You wouldn't make your customers stand out there so you shouldn't make the customer by proxy stand out there. It's rude .
First review; As a door Dasher I find restaurants and or coffee shops that I've never seen or heard of and I go back later with my family of 10. As I'm pulling up to Wide Awake espresso I've never been there before as it's a pretty strange location and I'm looking at their window and I'm thinking this lavender lemonade sounds amazing and I really want to try it but I know I have to pick up a doordash order so I inform her that I'm here for a doordash and before I start to order my drink on top of that she cuts me off and explains to me that that owner has declared there are no exceptions doordashers will not be served at the drive-thru window. That I must Park in the rain even though there is not a single customer behind me. So I get out of my car and try to not drop the stack of stuff they give me while I maneuver back to my vehicle with their horribly cramped horribly located parking lot. Update Today was my third and final trip this time while it was raining and me and another doordasher were out there shivering and the girl laughs and said cuddle up with the coffee. Super humorous maybe the owner shouldn't treat doordashers like second-class customers since those orders were placed way before any of the cars in the drive thru. But hey it's your business but I won't be picking up any more deliveries nor will I ever order through you guys as the customer service is lacking from...
Read moreThis is EXACTLY what you think of when someone says "neighborhood coffee stand" at a time when those don't even exist anymore. It's so bright and open. I ordered the Bacon Breakfast Sandwich and a Red Bull Raspberry Italian Soda. The sandwich is the most freshest thing I've had for breakfast in years! Not the least but greasy or heavy. Fresh Local branded ingredients that taste like they came from your own kitchen (actually, your mom's kitchen-- my kitchen only has cereal.) The drink is to die for! I don't like "SWEET sweet" in the morning, and this was for Goldilocks, "juuuust right." Plus, I love that it wasn't even pink, so no fake dyes or food coloring." Besides what was on the menu, the whole feel is just friendly, feels like home. The kind of place you want to be a regular at. The girl working was just a doll. GENUINELY nice, ya know? I can't say I think about the word "authentic" anymore when I visit a business, but that's how it felt. REAL. Very lucky to have stumbled upon this gem and sincerely want to thank you for the food, the drink, and the service. Keep on doing what you're doing, Wide Awake Cafe, because you've got the secret recipe!
P.S. Love the font you use for your menu! I'm a typographer and I couldn't have chosen...
Read moreThis place is usually a hit or miss in terms of customer service and drink quality. Today was definitely a miss. Pulled up and had to sit there for a minute to be acknowledged while they were right next to the window. After I made my order they went back to their conversation with the technician inside having a few good laughs. Ok....fine... I ordered an iced Americano w/cream and whip. Instead I got shots w/cream over a ton of ice, a 1/4 the amount of whip in a cup with a regular no whip lid, AND no straw. She asked if I wanted more whip as she handed it to me. I said no. At the time I didn't realize how little whip I actually received (.75 extra btw) until I stopped at the light. I guess I assumed they'd do the right thing and give the customer what they paid for (just with a different lid). Headed off to work and had to wait about 50 minutes for the ice to melt because the drink was NOT an Americano.
Both baristas behavior combined with paying for a drink I didn't receive left a bad taste in my mouth for this place. Not happy with the 6.50 + tip I just spent. Especially since this is right around the corner...
