2025 Looks like they rent UHaul here now as well as storage units. Still very cold in the units as compared to previous managers in 2023. Rates are still going up and insurance is still required. I've gone from 3 units at 10 x 15 to one that is 5 x 5. It is very secure as need a code to get in the gate and then a code to get an elevator and you also need your code to get out of the game. Management is on site Monday through Saturday I believe 10:00 to 5:00. The new managers are getting better with daily operations and are willing to work with me if problems arise. This will probably be my last year here as I can't afford it if rates continue to rise.

UPDATE. 07/2024. Used to love this place I've been having my stuff here for many years now, unfortunately there's new management and things aren't so great. Between the rates went up I lost my senior discount and now they charge for insurance or you can have your own insurance with proof.... I swear the management doesn't know from one person to the other what's going on. I speak to the manager and we have a verbal agreement on the phone because I live far away, and then the assistant manager doesn't know anything about it there's nothing in my file there's nothing in the computer. It's messed up my payments. They say that they haven't done anything with the heat it used to be temperature regulated now every time I go there it's really cold up in there. The new contract says don't store any heirlooms or pricey belongings.... What the hell is storage for?? Really going downhill fast I think I want to get my shit out of there. I do not recommend this place anymore. Where did the previous manager go cuz she ran it awesome!!

Love it here. Awesome people work here who seem to care about you and your needs. Reasonable rates compared to other storage spots in the area. Gate hours are 5am to 10pm, so flexible I can get into my storage practically anytime I need. Parking is a small area right by the door but I've never had a problem with that, nor have I had to park elsewhere. I recommend Tacoma Self Storage to anyone who has those extra things they don't have room for and requires a storage. Various sizes units to meet...

I rented a unit here for 8 years, and clearly they are under new (probably corporate) management, and as such, their new business model is to lure you in with a low rate and then quickly jack up the rate in rapid succession, hoping that it will be too inconvenient for you to move all your stuff to another facility. Despite being a loyal customer for the aforementioned 8 years, they effectively doubled my rate in less than two years (and they also eliminated an annual discount). The irony is that one employee admitted they could give me twice as much space for less than one-third of my current price if I moved into a larger unit. But then, of course, I knew the jacking up of rates would continue all over again, even higher than before. This was their "solution."

I think they are unethical, and you will regret patronizing them. My advice -- as of April 2025 -- is to stay...

Ever since they changed companies they raised the cost 3 times. We started at 75 dollars a month, it was raised to 187 a month. It took 6 months to change the contact information on file. They told me to email the manager at an address that didn't even exist. When we visited on 4-15-24 it was a far cry from the fully functioning and clean facility it used to be. It was extremely dirty, had a terrible smell and the elevator was broken. We decided to move to a better managed and properly maintained facility. It's a shame that a piece of Tacoma history has took such a drastic nosedive. They need to change the sign and the name of the business to reflect their extreme mismanagement. I'd feel safer renting a storage locker at the rescue mission before I would ever return to this...
