Big M Art Glass Studio — Attraction in Tacoma

I used to take my daughter to Big M's for all of her glass supplies while she was in high school art class. They were always wonderful,very helpful and an excellent selection. I lost my baby 2 yrs after she graduated and one of her projects had fallen and several panes of the leaded glass were broken. I'm moving away and wanted to gift her project to her Aunt Dianne, but didn't want to give it to her broken. I was frantically trying to find someone who could fix it for me. I just happened to call Big M's as I remembered how great they are. They are not only fixing the beautiful glass project,but trying to get it done before I leave so I can surprise my sister. Big M Art Glass & Studio recently completed four window panels for our home, based on an age-appropriate design (house was built in 1905, but sash windows were replaced with single light, non-opening double pane windows). Once the design was agreed on, the owner had us back to assist in picking out the glass colors for the panels, which included iridescent, water glass for privacy from the street & textured. Full disclosure I'm not a stained glass artist. If you are a seasoned, trained, knowledgeable artist looking for supplies on a self serve basis this place seemed pretty cool. If you need help or have questions go somewhere else. The staff was almost averse to engaging in any way, when forced to help they seemed to not know the product on hand if/when they would have more or the cost. I ended up walking out and had way better luck at hot glass color and supply in Seattle they rocked, and had a much larger supply of frit and the staff...
