Beignets & Brew — Restaurant in Tallahassee

This place is THE most chic place to grab a brew and some some sweet treats. And the beignets are heavenly!! I stick with the traditional beignets, which are served hot and fresh and covered in powder sugar. In addition to a variety of coffee options (lattes, hot cocoa, chai tea and freshly brewed), they offer an assortment of flavored mimosas too! If coffee and cocktails aren’t your thing, you can enjoy a freshly made smoothie or one of their delicious power-fizzies, which are lotus plant-based energy drinks. They’ve got Blue Razz Sour Apple and Strawberry Coconut in standard sizes as well as minis for the kids (made with soda water instead of the energy fizzy)! In addition to having great options to keep your tastebuds satisfied, there are plenty of seating options too. This place is super cute. We visit Tallahassee once a month. We thought to try something new. It had good reviews on trip advisor. We walked in and noticed no one behind counter. Only one person cooking and one person managing coffee bar, counter and food delivery. This is bad management. I thought about going elsewhere. We waited close to 10 min just to give order. My son suggested we already got this far, let’s wait. We ordered. I watched the restaurant fill up and continued line of people. All waiting on these two sole employees to do all the work. We waited 30 minutes for what should be considered fast food. The food came in stages. One part of three parts of the order. This was very strange. While the food itself was acceptable, for management to leave these two employees alone to handle this workload was hugely disappointing! We will not ever come back. Photos posted. Line of people. We were excited to come in and try the food and coffee since we’d heard good things, but when I asked what the difference between their two house blends of coffee were (since they were individually named) the girl at the counter looked at me blankly, shrugged and said “it’s black coffee”. We put in our order and went to sit without a number or anything and asked if we should wait and they said that they’d “try to find us”. It all looked amazing but service was apathetic and unorganized, the food was only ok, and it’s just plain over priced. $9 for a mimosa that tastes like feet? Nah.
