Great selection. Reasonable prices! Customer service leaves much to be desired. I went in to go buy an outfit for our Church's Christmas dinner and had my two year old daughter with me. She was a little fussy at the time but nothing too outrageous. The woman who helps in the dressing roomadvised me that I was not able to take my cart in and so I pushed it to the side and she said that she had to count my items while I pulled them out and showed her that I had six item.she continued to stand at the counter and basically ignore me. I was obviously in a hurry and trying to tend to my daughter.I waited for a few minutes and kept looking at her...waiting....she said that she had to come count them again. I waited a little longer holding my daughter in my arms. She eventually walked over and rudely again said that she needed to count them. Unbelievable! They were not busy at all. I was the only woman at the dressing room at the time! I honestly waited approximately 4-5 minutes and felt completely unimportant as a person and a customer for their business.
Later after I decided to run my daughter out to my husband bc by this point she had become too much to handle in the store. So as I was walking out I asked a woman at the register to hold the jeans I had decided to purchase just for a moment and I would be right back in to pay. I walk back in and get in line, I get to the register and ask for the item and it was no where to be found! They completely disregarded my request as if I had never even asked! The woman helping me at the register told me she had already hung them back up and it had only been about 5 minutes! We had to look for the jeans which luckily were still there. But overall the customer service was horrible I was extremely disappointed. I have worked customer service my entire "working " life. I will always love TJ Maxx but they should definitely train their employees to be more courteous and attentive. Especially when there are only about 10-15...
Read moreThis afternoon I went to TJ Maxx with my husband and my son, who is a 21 month old toddler. My son and I went to the children’s toy aisle. While we were there we saw books. My son loves looking at new books. He was standing right next to me and pointed at a book on a higher shelf. I went to grab the book and the shelf broke apart and fell on my son. He fell to the ground and a mark was left on his arm from the piece of plastic that was part of the shelf. I immediately kneeled down next to him and asked him if he was okay. He was in shock and sat there for a moment. Luckily none of the books on that shelf fell on top of him. My husband met me over in the book aisle and I told him about the event that had just happened. We then warned all of the parents around in that aisle that it was dangerous in that area and to be careful. We wanted to share our experience with an employee, however the store was very busy and seemed short staffed. All of the employees, from what I could see and find, were at the front of the store at the registers. We took pictures of the mark on my sons arm, along with pictures of the broken shelf. Please make sure your employees are keeping the establishment safe for everyone, including children. This is NOT okay. My son was hurt, and could have been more injured. I tried to reach out and contact TJ Maxx online and when I tried to submit the message, it kept telling me the session was timed out. I reached out to the online chat and no one was available. I then was going to call the customer service number but the service lines were not within hours of operation. It is Friday, I cannot contact someone...

I was then informed that if my wife wanted to show me her clothes that she could come out onto the main floor of the store to show me. She is shy, she doesn't want to show 20+ people an outfit that she doesn't even know if she likes.
It's 2024 yall. I wasn't making anyone uncomfortable with my presence and I certainly wasn't doing anything inappropriate.
I have never in my life been to a clothing store that felt the need to police my presence while accomponying my wife. Even the high brow establishments that are exclusively for women were more considerate to me than T.J. Maxx.
I don't know if yall get creeps who periodically come into the womens changing area often, but maybe use a little bit of common...
