I used to eat at Super Perros all of the time and always had a great time, so I was incredibly disappointed with the service we were given recently. We put in our Togo orders 30 minutes before arriving at the restaurant, only to be told that our order was cancelled and the staff had to put in the order again. I was a little upset that they cancelled our order (their reasoning was because they were out of Tres Leches, so they cancelled our entire dinner order instead of just leaving the cake out and waiting to tell us when we arrive. I’m not sure what the logic behind cancelling 4 entrees that had already been payed for due to one slice of cake, but I cut them slack due to the fact that they look a little busy.) After waiting a few minutes, the waiter took our order and left. 20 minutes later, the same waiter came back (after not acknowledging us the entire time) and said that the order STILL had not been put in and he had to retake it. We waited... and waited... it had eventually been over an hour when we finally got our food. I was so hungry at this point that I didn’t care about the wait, I just wanted some good food to brighten up my day. Like I’ve said, I’ve eaten at Super Perros before and was not disappointed, but the food I was given yesterday was inedible. The onions were not cooked at all, they were still tough. The “beans” they gave me in a tiny container were mistaken for sauce at first, because there weren’t any beans at all, just the nasty bean water at the bottom of the pot. I was given twi pieces of dirty iceberg lettuce for a “salad”. The “authentic Colombian” rice was literally PLAIN WHITE RICE. Straight from the rice cooker, unseasoned. I can’t fathom how an authentic Hispanic restaurant can mess up something as simple as rice and beans, but they still managed. My chicken was so tough and old that it looked like it had been sitting for over an hour. The churros were so tough that they crumbled apart like dust in our hands 💀 The flan had just been taken out of the freezer, had the expiration label on the bottom and I almost tried to eat it before one of my friends pointed out that it had already gone bad (expiration date on the bottom). I’d already taken a bite though, and was just as disappointed. No caramel sauce AT ALL, and the flan tasted like plain prepackaged vanilla pudding. They didn’t put jalapeños on the Mexican burger. The plantains weren’t cooked at all, just lightly browned. I wish I could’ve said I got to try the beans, but like I said it was only bean juice. There weren’t any beans at all. We ended up spending over $40 all together, waited nearly an hour and a half, just to have the most disgusting, unauthentic food I’ve ever seen. I’m not sure what happened, because we saw delicious food being handed to tables that were sitting down. I’m not sure if this restaurant just doesn’t care about to go, but because of this incident they have lost 4 loyal customers of 5 years. As a server myself, I am incredibly shocked at the negligence and lack of care the staff showed. I’m not sure if this was because the restaurant was busy, or if the cooks were new, but spending over $40 on expired cafeteria food is not fun. We weren’t offered any sort of comp even though we didn’t eat the food. I really tried to eat it, because I hate wasting food, but it was disgusting. I wish I took a picture before we just threw it all away and bought a frozen pizza for dinner. The only meal that ended up being touched was the Mexican burger meal, which was so overcooked that it was crumbling apart (as well as missing jalapeños/sauce/what’s SUPPOSED to come on it), but the fries that came with the burger were pretty tasty. One star for decent fries and horrific quality takeout food, service and treatment of customers. This is my first negative review I’ve ever given an establishment, because I try to be understanding and work with the restaurant, but there’s absolutely no excuse for what...
Read moreDear Management Team of El Rincon Latino,
I hope this message finds you well. My name is David, and I am writing to share my recent experiences dining at your establishment. As a Colombian individual with a deep appreciation for authentic cuisine, I was eager to try El Rincon Latino and immerse myself in the flavors of home.
Regrettably, after visiting your restaurant for the third time, I must express my disappointment with the overall quality of the food. During my most recent visit, I ordered the Bandeja Paisa, a dish that holds special significance for me. However, I was disheartened to find that several components of the meal did not meet my expectations.
The beans lacked flavor, the rice was overly dense, the deep-fried pork belly was disappointingly soggy, and the fried egg was well-done instead of the traditional over-easy preparation. As someone who has had the opportunity to explore various culinary offerings in Colombia, I was particularly let down by these inconsistencies in taste and execution.
This experience follows previous visits where I encountered similar issues with other menu items. On my first visit, the Sancocho, a beloved Colombian soup, deviated from its traditional recipe with the addition of green peas and lima beans, altering the dish's authentic flavor profile. The side of undercooked deep-fried plantains and poorly blended Lulo Juice further detracted from the meal's enjoyment.
During my second visit, I ordered a hamburger with papa criolla on the side. While the potatoes were satisfactory once I added salt, the burger arrived with cold bread and cold shredded cheese, a departure from the melted cheese typically found in Colombian fast-food establishments.
I attempted to address these concerns with the manager on my recent visit, but unfortunately, he was unavailable, and his nephew, who was present, was unable to fully hear my feedback due to other obligations. As a loyal and passionate patron of Colombian cuisine, I am saddened by my inability to fully savor the offerings of the only Latino Colombian restaurant in our city.
I share this feedback with the hope that it will be received constructively and used to enhance the quality and authenticity of your menu offerings. I believe that with attention to detail and a commitment to honoring traditional Colombian flavors, El Rincon has the potential to become a beloved culinary destination for individuals seeking an authentic taste of Colombia.
Thank you for taking the time to read my feedback. I look forward to the possibility of revisiting El Rincon in the future and experiencing the improvements that I trust will be...
Read moreReally sad about writing a negative review. Wanted to like this place, but I never got to try the food because the service was poor. I ordered and paid online an hour before my scheduled pick-up time. Walked up to the counter and waited to speak with someone. A young girl asked if I wanted to order. I said no need, I already ordered online. She didn't ask my name but was told to be seated and that she'll check on it. So, I did. Perhaps she assumed like me, that I was the only online order pending. After about 5 minutes, no one came to give me an update. I waited, still. It was lunch hour. After 5 more minutes, I finally asked for an update and the girl shrugged. She went to check, shrugged again and said 5 minutes. 5 minutes after that she brought me the incorrect order. I said my name is not Erick--the name on the Uber Eats order. 10 more minutes go by, I finally go to the counter and approach the girl to tell her I have to go back to work and asked for an update. I said listen, I already paid online and it said it would be ready 25 minutes ago. She involves the only other server there, a man. He checks his work tablet and walks to the back, frustrated. Says he apologizes, but the order was never placed. He offered a free beverage and I said, no politely. At this point, I said I need a refund because I don't have enough time to wait, unfortunately. He admitted he felt poorly and the girl in the back just avoided me. He said he hopes I come back. I shrugged. After a small issue with the refund process, I felt even less interested in coming back than before. At the end of the experience, I take issue with how service was provided from the minute I spoke to the girl. It was lunch time, yes, but I would have gladly stayed to wait 30 minutes past pick-up time, if I left with food. At the end of 30 minutes, I left with no food and no appetite to return here. The solution is simple: improve training. The girl who served me was probably 19 (at most). She seemed overwhelmed and uninterested in solving my problem. Good for her. Why should she care, if she doesn't lose anything from me leaving? So, I am leaving this comment in the hopes that they can learn from not asking questions, not caring about their customers' time, and perhaps learn to regroup on customer service training. Lo siguiente es para el dueno, yo soy de Honduras. En una ciudad como Tallahassee a donde no hay suficiente lugares en donde almorzar con comida latina rica, me da tristeza que este es mi experiencia. Aun asi, le...
