Unfortunately, I didn't like it, tables were sowed up because there was no one bussing the tables, young wait staff who "pumpkin patched" themselves talking and giggling with each other instead of cleaning the tables, I saw only one very active waitress WORKING servicing her section and being attentive to her customers, she was either a long time employee or not a college student. I myself sat at waiting area for 28 minutes waiting for the manager to surface as I had an interview appointment for a job. But the blessing was the waiting I had to do as I watched what all staff members did. While waiting the two young boys who were hosts clumped together and had small conversations with customers and themselves, the young cashier stood in her spot with a smile, which was good. The hosts were friendly and were genuinely concerned of my long wait time, and told me that they were going to make sure the manager didn't forget me as I sat for a long time. When manager did surface he rushed himself by me said hi, did not formerly introduced himself, I stuck my hand out and introduced myself, he scurried us back of restaurant and to his horror found ever table dirty, trying to avoid sitting near customers to perform interview, he had no other choice but to select a table behind customers. As we went to sit down, he abruptly got up and left table, by this point of what was to be my interview I decided that he forgot he had set up this appointment at 2pm, and was completely unprepared for it. I kinda thought that 2pm on a Sunday was strange as most restaurants are still busy at this time, and this restaurant was still busy and disorganized. As I sat waiting for his return, a young waiter cleaning a table near by turned around and asked me if I was the new manager. My response back to the young man was a chuckle, and replied why? Does this restaurant need a new manager? My appearance and my age must had been the determing decision for this young boy. As I, other than most of the customers was the oldest in the house! By this point you can imagine what my decision was, finally the interviewing manager returned to the table and was completely disorganized and not focused on the task he needed to perform. The interview by this point was most awkward. His approach was not the comfortable that was listed on reviews, perhaps for a young person just entering the employment force. His interview questions swirled around what and who my husband works for. I just couldn't understand why he was asking about my husband's company. As I tried to share my experience with Village Inn's pie division, knowing the history of the restaurant and my experiences as working as a waitress and owning my own bakery, his phone rang several times, and he answered each one even had a lengthy conversation while I sat in front of him waiting for my interview to begin to only have him continued to ask me questions as to what my husband did with the company he worked for. Then, as if I didn't know technology, preceded to insist that I would not be comfortable is point I was totally not wanting to work at that restaurant and clearly explains why employees of his, thought I was new manager. Young manager and young employees in my eyes bad mix. His interview style was in my eyes a complete failure, he didn't even know what position I had applied for, he asked me several times until I finally said perhaps a manager position as one of your employees thought I was the new manager. He did not like that at all. Then said to me as if all the serve staff was buttoned up, I'll put you as Hostess and call you by end of week. All he had to do was be honest. He was not he should have rescheduled interview when he was not so discombobulated! I cannot review the food from this restaurant, but can say that if your in the mood for entertainment, slow kid like service and have all the time in the world to wait, then visit this restaurant. And don't expect the manager to understand your complaint as he's too busy worrying about whose calling him on his...

Read moreMy husband and I have been dining at VI since (i10 in killearn Tallahassee) forever and tonight was the first time I wanted to return the entire meal. Ordered eggs scrambled lite, they came out hard and luke warm. Ordered corned beef hash, it was completely burnt so I sent it back without a replacement. No greeter at the door so several of us patrons had to wait on one of the very slow moving wait staff to acknowledge waiting patrons. Several waiting patrons decided to leave because they had been waiting to be seated for 15 mins for a nearly empty facility. The restaurant was only 20 percent full. I am a very easy going patron but am shocked at the service this visit. Our waitress was very pleasant and apologized about our food and offered to have it made over but we declined, but still tipped her well as she was the only one waiting her area with a purpose. Her only fault was not offering a refill on my tea. We decided to take with us what wasn't consumable for us and give to our pet raccoon. Also the waitress did say the manager (who was not on on duty) wife had a baby the day before and we sincerely pray mom and baby are doing okay. Please I hope this was a one time fluke for VI and not the new status quo as far...
