STAFF TRAINING NEEDED. Went into Hobby lobby and while shopping for the item that I needed, I noticed that there was a sale on for 40% off of all of the items within this brand. Shopped happily knowing that I was getting a discount. Got to the register and I was informed that there was no discount. Went ahead and put some items back without getting others and I decided to go back and see if the sign was actually there. When I got back sure enough, the sign was there it said 40% off of everything within this brand and even listed all the different things that were on sale. I took a snapshot of it and was headed up to the return/exchange desk when I saw one of the associates. I stopped her and asked her and she agreed that the paper (which I didn’t even know was part of it) should’ve been 40% off and I was charged full price but she told me that the other things the embellishments that were considered “charms“ were not 40% off. So I went up to the line and waited. In the meantime, I looked at hobby lobby online to see what ‘charms’ would be listed under and sure enough, they were listed under embellishments. So I finally get to the associate after waiting all this time (now I’ve spent 30 extra minutes in the store, wasting my time). I get up to the front and the lady (Ann) informs me that those things were not on sale. I told her that yes, they were because I saw the sign and I told her that I even took a picture of it just now. At this point Ann informs me that I could’ve taken that picture on a different day. Well obviously, I could’ve taken it at any point while the sign was up but are you really going to stand in my face and call me a liar? I find that extremely offensive as a customer. Simply, say that you will call your associate and have someone to look. Just flat out telling me I’m lying is just not acceptable. At this point, she calls the associate and the associate confirms that a sign was left up so she has the associate bring the sign up there so she can see it. In the meantime, in another lane (one over) the young lady who is ringing up people turns around and asks her what the brand was. This young lady was already ringing her customer up giving her the 40% off, as a courtesy. For some reason, I wasn’t extended that courtesy and instead I was called a liar for trying to verify that the sign was up. hobby lobby can do a little bit better than this. I don’t appreciate being called a liar because your associates were too lazy to take the sign down and then not being given the benefit of the doubt while other people were. Train your staff. Stop wasting customers time and being shady and just train your staff. Disappointed because I really love...
Read moreI don’t know who needs to hear this or why I felt the need to share to all of you, but I just had quite possibly the BEST experience of customer service at Hobby Lobby in Tallahassee, Florida.
I went to checkout and the cashiers name was Gavin. He said this was his first on the cashier today (not sure if he meant ever or just today) but if so, very impressive!
He was very young, professional, and personable, and just simply made my day. He told me he was looking for all the deals for my items and continued to ask me questions about my hat, so I told him about Oakfest, a music festival that we do to raise money for children and he was so intrigued. So then, we got to talking about music and he was into 80s rock, same here my guy! 🎸
We talked about a variety of thinks in those few short minutes of me checking out, but he left a lasting impression.
So for all of you all that complain about the upcoming generations in the workforce, this is for you.
I just left thinking about how the world needs more of it. We’d be better off if we all treated strangers with respect and genuine kindness.
To be...
Read moreFor those of creative minds...those that are crafty and those that like to decorate....Hobby lobby is your place! Hobby lobby has something for everyone; for any occasion. There are tons of departments ranging from home decor, frames, crafts, hobbies, fabric, sewing materials, scrapbook, floral, wedding, art, yarn, beads, and party supplies. The variety is great and the prices are even greater. Hobby lobby has a weekly ad and there always seems to be a good sale. I will say that most of the home decor styles are "modern" and "trendy" but not to the point where they can't compliment other decorating styles. The store was not too crowded and the staff seemed knowledgeable. The checkout process was simple and I did not have to wait that long in line. Although the location is not central to the city, it is not a bad drive from any direction and definitely worth the drive. It should be noted that these type of stores often take patience as there is SO MUCH going on and so much to choose from but with a little help from one of those knowledgeable staff members, you are bound to find what you are...
