Aloha Kine Grindz — Restaurant in Tallmadge

So I made the horrible decision to purchase food from this restaurant, food truck at the Parkwest night market. The food look good on display and I love Hawaiian food so I decided to take a chance and purchase their garlic chicken combo meal. I asked for no rice because I do not eat it and asked if I could substitute for all macaroni and she said it would be a three dollar charge I said never mind. I’m already paying $16 for the plate. Didn’t want to spend 20 for substituting the rice, which I do not eat So I ordered it. The window paid for it turned around not five seconds later. My food was ready already a red flag. I open the box I take a bite of the chicken and I just threw it in the trash. This food was horrible. I can’t say if there’s a restaurant or not but for my first experience food truck was pure trash. I did not take any pictures because I threw it away...

What an awesome place! We're visiting Akron, and were looking for a place for lunch. It's take out only, but don't be deterred. We saw this and boy are we glad we stopped in! The woman who took our order was just lovely and when I couldn't decide on garlic chicken or the honey butter glaze, she let me do half and half. My husband got mochiko chicken with spicy mayo. I tried some, and it was delicious...I'm not a huge spicy fan, but it was good and flavourful, a nice little burn but it goes away fast. The rice was delicious...I could have eaten just that. Finally, for those who always wonder about the portions, it was a massive amount. My eyes wanted to keep nomming, but I just had no more space. Trust me, even if you're not sure about Hawaiian food or spam, give this a try. You will not be disappointed! I'd give 10 stars if...

I ordered their Mochiko Chicken entree last night, served with Spam fried rice and macaroni salad. This restaurant has no dining area and is pickup only, know that before going. The owners are very friendly and the food was ready as promised.

The chicken was lightly breaded and deep fried, so tender with all that juicy goodness sealed in. The rice was perfectly cooked and the Spam adds a salty, meaty depth of flavor that pairs well with the spicy chicken. The portion is huge and easily enough for two to share, I even had enough for lunch today. Order extra macaroni salad because you're going to want more....
