Had the most delicious meal at Boda - a newly opened amazing authentic Mexican Cuisine in Tampa. Upon walking in, we were greeted by the owner and very friendly staff. We learned that everything is made in-house and nothing is ever frozen. Everything we ordered truly was made on location and all was very fresh and healthy. The menu is on a large board where you order at the counter and the food is delivered to your table. They also have menus at the front counter. We ordered the Vegetable Rice Bowl and they accommodated my request for lettuce instead of rice. The Bowl was extremely tasty. We also ordered the Enchilada Suizas which had fresh corn tortillas (made with beets which gave it an outstanding taste), chicken, salsa verde, pickled red onions, cilantro and queso blanco. It was served with a side of black beans and rice. Another outstanding dish… we also tried the sides of Plantains (delicious), Tamales (wow-wanted more), and Elote de la Novia (roasted corn, queso fresco, mayo, tajin and fresh lime…. The combination made this corn very flavorful and delicious!!). Had the Hibiscus Water that is made with the hibiscus flower…a must try and very good… Also had the Horchata made with rice, cinnamon, sugar and water and was really amazing… couldn’t drink enough of it! Lastly we had the Flan that was incredibly tasty. The atmosphere was bright and the decor was spot on for a Mexican restaurant. Highly recommend. We will...
Read moreFirst of all, you order from the counter, and they bring the food to you. They have tacos and enchiladas that are practically identical. The prices are sort of high for what they offer. A taco was $5 but if you want rice and beans, it's $11. In other words, the rice and beans cost more than the taco. I prefer vegetarian so I had two choices, vegetables or plantains and zucchini. I ordered that and I receive a small corn tortilla, two sweet plantains, and one tiny slice of zucchini. It came with a spoonful of verde sauce. The enchilada was basically the same thing except filled with some green beans, zucchini, onion, lettuce and was covered in sauce. I had the choice of getting two for $13 or one plus rice and beans. The prices really didn't make any sense because the taco was the exact same thing. Plus, the lady claimed I ordered two tacos and the enchilada, but I didn't. I wanted one of each. Drinks come in a can, so you have to pay for each one. The whole order was three tacos, one enchilada with rice and beans and two drinks and the whole thing was $42. For dessert, we ordered the churros. They were delicious and came with chocolate sauce and home-made whipped cream. That was the best part of...
Read moreTRAGIC DINING EXPERIENCE! Very disappointing. Small portion sizes. Very limited menu. Food tasted like generic frozen enchiladas reheated in the microwave. No meat option other than chicken, which had virtually no seasoning and appeared to have come out of a can. Ranchero sauce tasted like canned tomato sauce with too much cilantro and little to no other flavor. Rice was basic Chinese-buffet white rice. Dish was served with a puddle of water below the enchiladas. Chips are extra-cost despite the skimpy portion sizes. I have eaten at several local full-service Mexican restaurants for less - including much bigger portions, tasty food, better atmosphere and free chips. Drink selection is pathetic. No fresh-brewed iced tea. Limited flavors of canned sodas. The decor looked like AI-generated 'Mexican' with patio furniture for seating. Manager and staff made no effort to resolve anything other than to say "we have limited space and that's all we can offer." Dining room was completely empty when we were there at about 7pm on a Sunday [holiday weekend]. TWO THUMBS DOWN! I give them six months before...
