My wife and I needed a little romantic date-nite-esque fun catch up with each other, so we chose Bouzy which I belive is a place in France that independent "growers" (you'll see it on the menu) grow grapes for champagne. I'm pretty sure it's proper champagne as well, but I wanted to shout out to our server for the evening Marvin who is (at the time we visited) a level two Somn! How cool is that? Anyway, we learned a little about the bottle we ordered, which was one of the least expensive, coming in at just under a hundred bucks. Marvin told us the bottle "Jeepers" was named after a WWII spot that left behind some jeeps and the farmer, grower, or vintner, (I'm not sure what the proper title is) kept and used them.
All this is beside the point, I was totally blown away at how delicious everything we ordered was! We started with the carpaccio, which we were told had a little spicy kick. It definitely did have a little spice, but not at all unbearable. I love spicy food and I would actually categorize this as not spicy because it's mild, and doesn't linger afterwards. This is for sure a must try appetizer. Second we ordered the oysters, which came with a very unique kimchee and another sauce, for lack of a better word in my vocab. It's more like a liquid but is outstanding! We finished with entrees, I got the lobster pasta, my wife got the salad with beef. Both were very tasty, and the portion was not too small, but just right especially after two appetizers.
I'm deliberately leaving out the adjectives and fancy descriptions that you'll see in the menu because I'm the kind of guy who knows what extremely good food tastes like, but I'm not up to speed on all the lingo around what I consider gourmet, maybe even a gastro-style menu. There is definitely a chef with some serious skills coming up with these flavors. Typically I get pics of everything but I just couldn't wait to dig in!
You could have a romantic dinner, but most folks seemed to be there having a get-together. Perhaps professional businesspersons having a fancy luncheon, or just several well dressed friends having champagne and celebrating the end of the week.
We absolutely fell in love with the place, can't wait to return. My complements to the chef, and especially to Marvin. The experience was what really marries all the exquisite thought and craftsmanship put into the food and drinks. We have become instant regulars!
Thanks for a...

I made a solo trip on a Thursday evening with a reservation to check this place out. Hyde Park has plenty of excellent dining options, but this definitely had the best vibe when I walked up. Modern and fun decor with bubble chandeliers and pop music playing with a mostly younger crowd.
I was seated right after my arrival and quickly visited by my server-in-training Ellie (hope I'm spelling that right). She did a phenomenal job welcoming me and recommending some excellent choices.
I started with a Popstar Martini and the Pork Bao Buns, since they're known for their Bao and I'm pretty sure I could smell it throughout the restaurant of others that had ordered it. The martini came out accompanied by a champagne sidecar, and tasted great with a strong mango flavor (which was a hit for me, I'm a big mango fan). The bao buns were also chef's kiss incredible, the pork was perfectly seasoned and tender and the pickled cucumber was just enough acidity to break up the bold flavors of the soy glaze.. I can see why they're a popular item here!
In the midst of waiting for my bao buns to arrive, I was having trouble deciding which entree to pick. It was a very tough decision between the Saffron Chicken, Faroe Island Salmon, and the Lobster Roll. Ellie visited my table and came in clutch once again with her ecstatic recommendation of the Lobster Roll.
Oh. My. GOODNESS... The dish came out and was LOADED with buttery lobster, a delicious side salad, and some chips. I had to pace myself, I wanted to savor every bite of that roll. I was pleasantly surprised with the portion size; I came out expecting to have a light evening meal and this dish left me fat and happy.
I really enjoyed this experience, and glad I chose this restaurant through the "Offline" app. Ralph, the GM, visited my table a few times and made sure I was taken care of, even showing me the hidden "Champagne Room" in the back after I had finished my meal. I felt very welcomed here, and I'm excited to come back with friends next time. Thanks to all of you for the great experience and...
Read moreMy recent experience attempting to enjoy "High Tea at Bouzy" was incredibly disappointing, leading to a one-star rating. I had meticulously planned this unique experience, taking time off work and coordinating my 12-year-old daughter's short visit around it, based on the enticing description on their website. We even dressed up for the occasion, anticipating a delightful afternoon. I also had an email confirmation for my reservation.
Unfortunately, upon arrival, our reservation was respectfully and politely cancelled by the General Manager, Josh. The reason given was that the kitchen had not prepared any of the High Tea food ahead of time. This was baffling, especially since I had called the restaurant just four hours earlier to clarify whether my 12-year-old daughter would be considered a child or adult for the reservation, and at no point was I informed of any issues or the need for a 24-hour advance booking. It became clear the restaurant wasn't tracking my reservation or my plans to visit.
The Bouzy website, which promotes this "delightful afternoon" with "limited seating and full-table participation," crucially fails to mention the requirement for a 24-hour advance reservation. This lack of clear communication led to us being turned away at the door, completely ruining our plans. To add insult to injury, we were offered the regular menu with some premade desserts, which frankly did not live up to the "delectable description" found in other Google reviews or on their own website.
For an establishment promoting such a special event, the lack of preparation, communication, and clear reservation policies is unacceptable. It was a complete waste of time and a significant letdown for what was supposed to be a memorable...
