I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction and concern regarding a recent visit to your establishment. My experience was not only unsettling but also deeply distressing, prompting me to demand an explanation and seek reassurance that such an incident will never occur again.
Upon entering your establishment, my fiancé and I were eagerly looking forward to a pleasant meal. We had ordered two classic burgers with specific cooking preferences – one well done and the other medium well. Additionally, we requested loaded baked potatoes as sides for both burgers. Unfortunately, what followed was a series of events that left us both shocked and dismayed.
After a brief wait, we were informed by a staff member that the food was not yet ready due to the well done burger. Patiently, we waited for our order to be prepared. Approximately 10-15 minutes later, I noticed a staff member approaching us with a bag containing our order. To my astonishment, she proceeded to bypass us and instead deliver the food to another group of patrons, seemingly prioritizing them over us.
This incident took a distressing turn when the patrons she initially tried to serve refused the order. It was at this point that the same staff member reluctantly handed us our food, as if an afterthought. What added an unsettling layer to this already troubling situation is the fact that I couldn't help but notice a potential racial bias in her actions. As a Black man with Russian heritage, I couldn't shake off the feeling that my treatment was influenced by discriminatory assumptions.
To compound matters, upon opening the bag, we discovered a glaring oversight: there were no utensils, condiments, or napkins provided. Such negligence is unacceptable, as basic amenities are integral to a satisfactory dining experience. I had no choice but to venture back inside to request the missing items, which I am rightfully entitled to as a paying customer. Unfortunately, my attempts to communicate with the staff were met with indifference and lack of response. Even my efforts to approach the manager, who was within close proximity, were met with disregard until I resorted to demanding attention.
This sequence of events left me feeling not only discriminated against but also wholly disrespected. It's disheartening to believe that such behavior could be perpetuated in this day and age, tarnishing what should have been a simple meal outing. Moreover, the fact that I had to consume the food without proper utensils or condiments added to the overall discomfort of the experience.
I want to make it clear that I am not taking this lightly. I am left with no choice but to pursue appropriate channels to ensure that my experience is acknowledged and that necessary actions are taken to prevent such incidents in the future. I intend to file a report with the Better Business Bureau and share my unfortunate encounter with my social circle to raise awareness about this issue.
I urge you to take this matter seriously, investigate the incident thoroughly, and address the systemic issues that may have contributed to this unfortunate event. I demand transparency, accountability, and most importantly, assurance that corrective measures will be implemented to prevent any form of discrimination and negligence from tainting the reputation of Millers Ale House.
I eagerly await your prompt response and a detailed account of the steps you intend to take to rectify this situation and prevent...
Read moreFirst, I'd like to compliment employees such as Darcy, Dmitri, Vinny and Alexa for attentive friendly service on every single one of my visits. It is not their fault that the restaurant that employs them now features a promotion where the fine print and restrictions are awful for customers. Starting on April 9th, some Miller's customers received small scratch off tickets with the supposed incentive of receiving something in return. My ticket clearly said "Free Zingers" and I attempted to claim them while enjoying a couple drinks at the bar. The bartender literally had to use the flashlight on his phone to take a photo of the scratch off ticket and then zoom in on his phone's image of the ticket to see that the fine print stated that the zingers were only free with a purchase of $40 and that amount could not include any alcohol. Another two people sitting down the bar from me also were attempting to use a similar scratch off ticket for some "Free Mozzarella Sticks" and also could not read the fine print associated with that offer. As someone who hates promotions that are not worth my time and use fine print to mislead the customer, I simply paid for my drinks and left the restaurant entirely. Also, I gave the "Free Zingers" card to the bartender since I had no plans to ever use it. When I went online to the Miller's website using the "Contact Us" option to offer an opinion on their misleading fine print in this new promotion, the website would not allow me to do so and simply flashed that they were undergoing "maintenance." Funny, no other section of the Miller's website was impacted and online orders were still welcomed without any issues or "maintenance." For Miller's to introduce this scratch off promotion that features high limits on purchases in fine print so small even their employees cannot read it for customers to qualify for discounts or supposedly free menu items is misleading, bad business and just really...
