Tarek's Cafe — Restaurant in Tampa

We ordered french toast catering through Tarek's Cafe as part of a resident event for a student housing community nearby. I am not a USF student nor am I familiar with the USF campus, so finding the cafe's location was more difficult than I'd like to admit. Tarek was incredibly patient with me over the phone as I was trying to find the cafe, and presented a smiling face when I finally walked through the door. He also went above and beyond to get me and the french toast back to my car without getting lost again.

In short, the customer service received is unmatched.

On top of the next-level service, the french toast and bonus muffin were DELICIOUS. Residents cleared the food within an hour of the event starting, and were all smiles as they cleaned their plates.

Finally got a chance to try this place out - and yes, its definitely worth it! Had the 911 Cuban sandwich and it was on POINT! Wife had the corned beef hash, although she will not order that again, I loved it. I ended up swapping plates w/her. I loved the hash. The coffee was great, and the service from both the owner and our waitress was top notch, she knew what I wanted even before I could say it. I definitely plan on going here and trying out their weekday specials (slow roasted lamb/ beef lasagna/ poached salmon..etc) and the rest of the things on the menu. You can actually feel the love the owner puts into his dishes, and he is darned proud of it - not to mention everything here is halal (kosher). Tarek's is the best kept secret at USF! The owner, Tarek, is wonderful and the food is excellent. Great portions, really reasonable prices, and quality ingredients. Have the breakfast sandwich with ham on toasty Cuban bread with lots of gooey cheese, or the grilled homemade coconut cream cheese muffin. Lunch sandwiches are awesome - especially the buffalo chicken wrap. Best baklava I've had since visiting Tunisia - seriously. Food served quickly and in a friendly, clean atmosphere.
