I came to whiskey Joe’s about noon 12 PM Eastern time. I have been on the beach for six hours ! The big boob blonde lady who works 2nd shift. served me multiple times before asking for my “ID” after serving me for 5 hours. I’m 26 years old. A LICENSED BARTENDER ,Vibing having a good ole time. I was here 5 hours, drinking being served by the same person for her to Cause an scene and ask for my ID. Again after 5 hours. Upon them trying to literally push me by my chest (my wheight WET is 110). They proceed to push me pass my child. And continue to father away me from my 6 year old son, I continually stress. “My son is back there” they continuly pushed me father away from my child. They had no remorse or to even try to see what was the problem. (What happen to CUSTOMERS IS ALWAYA RIGHT)I understand working in the Florida heat is hard , but I did not tell anyone to maintain their job. But do their job as they were hired. As a bartender I would’ve asked for ID BEFORE serving them. I also know the 40+ rule. Even though I do not look 40 I was served multiple times before the situation. I have called the establishment multiple times trying to express the way I feel and how the situation went about. I have been declined. Pushed to voicemail. After calling 20x I had my best friend call for the girl at the desk “are you the girl in the yellow”. As a human, we all analyze voices. She went on to say. No I’m the manger. Again wouldn’t give her name. And hung up on my best friend. I have been to multiple establishments and never ran into a problem. Like this. And to be push to the side like how your employees treat me doesn’t matter is Diabolical. I’ve have came here for the last 5 years least once a month. Is not more. But I can promise you. I would never come back. The trauma that this has caused upon my son (My son was literally asking him to stop putting hands on me) And as a security guard, you are not supposed to put hands on you were supposed to call the law. I’m not usually one to leave negative reviews, but our experience at Whisky Joe’s was so poor I feel compelled to share.

We had a 7:00 PM reservation and arrived on time with a party that included two hungry toddlers, an infant, a teenager, and an elderly family member. Unfortunately, what should’ve been a pleasant Monday night dinner turned into a complete nightmare.

We waited over an hour to receive our food — not exaggerating. Despite our server Piper having a friendly attitude, she was nowhere to be found once we placed our order. She did not check back in on us, and communication was lacking. When one of my toddlers accidentally spilled their apple juice (because the restaurant was out of kids' cups with lids), she simply threw down some napkins. No effort was made to clean the mess properly or replace the now-wet kids' menus. We were left to deal with the sticky situation ourselves.

After 30+ minutes with no food, I finally had to flag Piper down to ask what the delay was. She informed us the kitchen was backed up due to a party of 50 tickets. While I understand things happen, this should’ve been communicated earlier so we could’ve made the choice to dine elsewhere. Instead, we were stuck waiting with restless toddlers and a table full of increasingly frustrated family members.

Our food finally arrived around 8:30 PM, and by that time we were all starving. I ordered the pulled pork tacos, which arrived completely cold. I let Piper know, but said I’d settle for just reheating it to avoid waiting again. She later returned with a new plate, but this time, the tacos were dry and had no sauce at all—just plain meat in a tortilla. I told her I didn’t want anything at that point. I had completely lost my appetite due to the combination of poor service, lack of communication, and underwhelming food.

A Terrible Experience for Anyone with Food Allergies/ Dietary Restrictions – Visit on 5/25/25

I visited Whiskey Joe’s Tampa on 5/25 to celebrate my birthday, but what should have been a fun night quickly turned into a stressful and unsafe experience due to poor handling of my seafood allergy.

My partner and I ordered non-seafood items (a turkey club, loaded fries, and pickle chips), but were shocked to find a shrimp in our pickle chips. I immediately informed our server about my allergy. Instead of urgency or concern, I was met with a casual, “I’ll be right back.” When they returned, they informed us that all fried items share the same oil as seafood—meaning I couldn’t eat any of what I had ordered.

When I asked for safe alternatives, no help was offered. In fact, I was told, “I just work here, babe.” That kind of response—unprofessional and unsafe—is the last thing anyone with a food allergy should hear.

The restaurant manager later told us the opposite—that they do use separate fryers and that food allergies are taken seriously. The inconsistency between staff was confusing and alarming. The manager never followed up or came back with suggestions for what to eat.

Eventually, I was told the kitchen was “working something out” for me, without even checking if I still felt safe eating (I didn’t). Then the waitress returned to say there was nothing they could do, adding that changing the fryer oil would cost $700. That comment was not only inappropriate—it was irrelevant. I ended up eating nothing. No apology. No accommodation. Not even a discount, despite the ruined evening.

Food allergies are not a joke. This experience was frightening, the communication was careless, and the service showed zero accountability. I’m sharing this so others with allergies and dietary restrictions are aware. I hope Whiskey Joe’s takes this seriously and retrains staff to ensure no one else goes...
