I visited on a slow Thursday afternoon with my elderly parents.
We were warmly greeted by a team member in an orange shirt who kindly opened the door for us.
Jude warmly welcomed us at our table, providing menus and wrapped silverware. He introduced himself and informed us of the day’s special: a promotional burger offer of buy one, get the second at 50% off. He allowed us ample time to peruse the menu, patiently taking our drink orders with friendly and cheerful energy.
The burgers my father and I had were massive, beautifully made, and filled with juicy goodness. In terms of franchise burgers on the island, they are unparalleled. Unlike McDonald’s and Burger King, which are overpriced and lack effort, Chili’s truly delivers.
My mother’s highlight was the signature baby back ribs, which she relished alongside loaded baked potato mash, sautéed shrimp, and coleslaw. The flavors were outstanding and the presentation, impeccable.
A delightful local touch was the offering of denanche, a local hot pepper paste exclusive to Guam. Jude suggested multiple options that significantly enhanced our dining experience. This gesture, along with the back-of-house team’s effort to create signature side sauces, made our experience exceptionally comforting.
Jude ensured our glasses were always refilled and frequently checked in to see if everything was to our satisfaction. He even offered us to-go cups for our drinks.
The atmosphere was clean, family-oriented, and brimming with smiles and joyous holiday moments from families at other tables.
A heartfelt thank you to Chili’s Guam, Jude, and the team on the 2nd floor of Tumon...
Read moreHad a really unpleasant experience. Rude and slow staffs.
I tried to get into the store to check the waiting list, but one of the staffs told me "don't come in!" with very angry tone.
They said that I had to wait more than 30 minutes even though there were many idle seats. It seemed thay they didn't want let tourists (from aisan country) in. My guess is that they don't like such visitors from asian countries because asian visitors are not familiar with giving tips. Anyway, I was able to being seated after 10 minutes of waiting, as the staffs were loosing the other customers that they wanted to let in. This part is with my guess, but that was how I felt.
After being seated, I had to wait more than ten minutes to get a menu. No one brought us forks and knives even after the main dishes are served.
When checking out, I had to wait another ten minutes because they took my credit card and kept it until I told them "I want my crdit card back" after waiting a lot of time. The staffs were talking each other and dancing while I was waiting.
They just didn't care about my table but charged the gratuity fee. I have never had this kind of experience in any Chili's in the mainland US.
I visited the store 7/4...
Read moreChili’s 🌶 moved to the Tumon Sand Plaza to complete their trifecta of American chain restaurants. Probably a little less fanfare as it’s a move versus a new place like the other two (OG, RL). You can enter through the front and take an escalator straight up or head up once inside.
It’s a bit smaller than the old location but that may work to its advantage. Usually short staffed at the old location which led to service issues as previous reviews highlight. I tend to eat at the bar with good service there and the kitchen has been consistently good. My smothered steak burrito with black beans was delicious and quite filling. I really like getting the heart healthier black beans versus the refried beans served at most Mexican restaurants.
Still a nice space with a much smaller bar. There’s a nice adjoining balcony patio which is a great place for a Presidente margarita. Just wish they would have put in a nice 60” 4K LG 📺 on the lone bar wall versus the arbitrary Guam 🇬🇺 mural. I’d be tempted to come in more often to watch sports.
