We are from Houston, so if any of you Texans are reading this, move along! and just go get some Mexican food. Houston has great Chinese and Thai restaurants, so we know what good Chinese food tastes like.

The owner is fantastic! She came and cleaned our table for a second time since the last person didn't do it right. She made great conversation and has a very likable personality, maybe that's the reason why people come back?

The place was very outdated, musty look and feel. Try not to touch or lean on anything while you are there. I kept telling myself, good food is definitely possible in hole in the wall places.

I read reviews here and decided on their famous Egg Foo Young (which i thought was vegetarian?!, it was on the special menu with no description anywhere to be found), Kung Pao chicken and cheese puffs. People said to avoid Thai food here so i didn't get the Pad Thai which i was initially eyeing.

Egg Foo Young was drenched I mean like a friggin waterfall of brown sauce with EVERYTHING in it, it had beef, chicken, shrimp and vegetables just overwhelmed in the sauce. I didn't like the sauce and thats all you could taste on top of everything. Not to mention $15 for that.

The kung pao and cheese puffs were lacking as well, I have had much better. I can see why people may like this place, because there isnt much choice...

I would rate more than 5 stars if I could! My husband and I have lived in Taos almost 2 years and I've always read great reviews about Song's and wanted to try it out but haven't had a chance until today. Determined to try it, I stopped after running errands and grabbed some takeout. I was greeted immediately upon entering by a woman whom I assume is the owner. She was very friendly and attentive. I was unsure of what I wanted so I have her a general idea of what I was craving and she created a dish made to order. It was a simple chicken stir fry with vegetables and it is amazing! I stopped in the middle of eating to write this review. My husband is having beef and broccoli and is just as impressed. Aside from our entrees, we ordered egg rolls (delicious), cream cheese wontons (mouth-watering), and hot and sour soup (couldn't be better). The portions are huge! This will probably be 3 meals for me! I expected a large bill but, honestly, it was very reasonable. I definitely recommend eating at Songs. The food is some of the best I've eaten and the service can't be beat! It's rare to find a place these days that has both attributes. We'll be going back again and again! My new favorite...

My family and I went to Song's Restaurant after a long day of road trip. We are not from the area, so we didn't know what to expect but I am so glad that we went there. The owner greeted us as we entered the restaurant, and she was so very sweet and patient the whole time. She was very friendly and made us feel so welcomed. She took time to explain what they had on the menu and patiently waited as we debated on what to order. We did a to go order. After we arrived at our hotel room and opened the food, we realized that she packed paper plates and few other things that we needed to comfortably eat at the hotel room. The food was delicious. Portion sizes were large. We had leftovers to eat the next day. We called the restaurant to thank her, but I think they may have been closed for the day as it was later in the evening. Thank you for the great experience, service, and food after a...

We called in a to-go order for teriyaki chicken and lemon chicken. Unfortunately, both dishes missed the mark. The breading was oddly soft and soggy — not crispy at all — which gave the chicken an unappealing texture. The meat itself was pale and lacked any color or sear, which made it look and taste questionable. Both sauces didn’t resemble any teriyaki or lemon flavor we’ve had before and wasn’t enjoyable. Also found some sort of goo/gelatin in the teriyaki dish. On a positive note, the server was very friendly and welcoming, which we appreciated. Sadly, we ended up tossing both entrees.

The restaurant is a wreck and its obvious they have no clue how to run the business end of this place. They are always out of stuff. Last time we were there they were out of salad dressing. Can't you run across the street to Albertsons and get some Ranch dressing? But the food is pretty good and worth the rest if the debacle. We eat here every time we come to Taos. It's always good. The hot and sour soup is the best I've ever had. Not much to the atmosphere and the service is slow and always understaffed. I'd give the food four stars but the rest of it brings it down to three.

My boyfriend and I tried this place on our vacation in Taos to have something different for dinner. It’s your average Chinese restaurant. It’s more of a take out spot versus dining in. Its very sparse inside like uncomfortable vibe. I did enjoy the handmade steam dumplings though. The food portions are standard sizes to other Chinese restaurants. Service- very friendly, nice, and understanding. For example they were out of something and they provided us something different to make up for it.
