Quick Update: I got in touch with the Subway corporate office and Janet called me back and apologized for the situation. She also did assure me that she will send a team to Taos to work with the subway team there to make sure that they are properly trained and know how to make customers feel welcome and resolve issues without aggravating the situation.
Most Unpleasant experience !!! I was visiting Taos with my family (from Texas) and I got Mexican local food for myself, but my two young kids opted for their familiar food of which subway was one of them.
My younger daughter is a vegetarian, so she asked for a vegetarian sandwich. She asked for her bread to be toasted, however they had not asked her about toasting it first before putting the vegetables on it. When she said that she wanted the bread toasted, they told her that it's against Subway Corporate Policy to toast the bread with vegetables on it. They should have redone her order and toasted the bread first before putting the vegetables on it. However they refused to do that. My daughter is very shy so she did not say anything but she came back to the car (where I was waiting) and she was crying saying they would not toast her bread.
I took the sandwich and went into the subway store myself and asked them to change it out with a toasted bread. The manager was extremely rude and grabbed the sandwich from my hand and slammed it into the trash can. They did redo the sandwich for me..
The workers I cold tell understood the situation and they were trying their best. When I was walking out the manager came out of the backroom and told me that that subway was private property and if I came there again, I would be trespassing and he would call the police on me.
I will try to contact Subway Corporate on this and express my displeasure on this whole experience. Meanwhile, I have told my kids to...
Read moreI would give this place a 0 star if I could. This was a story I heard today The district manager fired a homless kid because he had a hickey and no band aid. She said subway did not have one (what kind of low grade restaurant doesn't have a first aid kit) what an unbelievably harsh woman with no compassion for those less fortunate. She is also making him wait around outside in fridged temperatures to get his check because she doesn't want him in her presence. Has to wait until she leaves because maybe she is racist againt hispanics or maybe bias against homless so she doesn't have to look at him....absolutely horrific treatment of others. As much money as we spend in Taos this will not be a place I will ever go again. Absolutely disgusting district manager so yeah I will avoid Subway all together and put this review on every social media i have. Also tried to help said kid cash check...remember homless kid no bank account the district manager in link below hung up on me and did not offer any way to help him get paid for 2...
Read moreUPDATE: Service is crap. Can't order online. $12 for a footlong? And have it take 40 minutes standing in line while they work at the pace of a snail? And then they stop in the middle of making your toasted sandwich to do something else? Nope.
If you're looking for a quick sandwich, don't bother. If there's even one person ahead of you figure it's 20 minutes just to get your sandwich. I've stood in line for 45 minutes while there's only 2 people ahead of me. Ridiculous. Stopped by on Saturday at 2 and there were 3 people in line and only ONE person working sandwiches and register. I didn't have an hour of time.
They also don't know how to work together. People stand there watching one person making the sandwich. Most shops will hand off once is in the oven to speed things up.
For the price - and Subway is way too pricey anymore - it's not worth that kind of wait. I wish we had a Jimmy John's. Meats, service, bread and...
