We went on Mother's, so we expected a wait. We got seated quickly, but the service was quite lacking. It took over 20 minutes for our beverages to arrive, and another 40 minutes for our pita and tzatziki. The pita was fine, but the tzatziki was more of a garlic yogurt than cucumber spread. I love garlic, but this was too much. I went with the Greek French fries, expecting it to be better blended (feta doesn't melt very well, so it was like regular fries with ketchup because the cheese kept falling off) but it wasn't. I also ordered the chicken Greek Chow Mein. I'm not sure if it was because I was full on the bread waiting over an hour from our arrival to the entrée, but it actually tasted better as leftovers. I also threw the remaining feta from the fries and a light sprinkling of garlic salt on it, but I very much enjoyed the leftovers.
I wouldn't be so irritated at the long wait if the larger group next to us didn't have a better server than ours. They got their drinks in a timely manner, they were checked on, they got their food and left before we finished our meal. I can't help but wonder if I should have ordered our drinks from that server (my husband had stepped away for a minute) so we would have had more attention paid to us. Our server just kept saying, "We are backed up on to-go orders, your food will be out shortly." It really shouldn't take 40 minutes for pita and tzatziki sauce in a Greek restaurant, but I'm not in that industry. We did get two free glasses of wine and a free order of angel puffs for the inconvenience, but a more attentive server and less garlic in the sauce would have made a better experience.
Will I return? Not sure. Will I recommend to others? Not sure there, either... especially as the leftovers were better than the fresh meal. I don't think I would go out of my way to return, but I also don't think I would discourage others to try it out. It could have just been a bad day and most of the staff called in, I don't know. I do know that I won't be ordering the tzatziki sauce from...
Read moreWe have been going to this place way before they moved to the new location and Saturday night was the worst experience ever. We called ahead and had a party of 8. It took the waiter 25 min to take our drink and appetizer orders. Then it took us stopping him in his tracks to place our order, another 30 min went by, mind you the place was not busy at this point. When finally placing the order the place started to get busy. We waited 1 Hr before asking the waiter, why do we not have our food when 2 4 and 6 tops were coming in after we ordered and the 2 tops ate and left before even getting our food? He claimed the kitchen was backed up. My response was, how come take out orders and other tables after us were coming and going and he went to the kitchen and said to me, 4 more minutes. 30 more minutes go by, more table come and go and still no food, I told him to cancel everything and I will pay for what we had and he walked away and started bringing our meals. At this point I was outside due to my anger. I went back to join my party and 4 of them were boxing up their food. I asked to speak to the manager and was told no manager? Another words, no responsible party in house? I asked for the whole Bill and I was told he removed the drinks, I thanked him and said sarcastically, what the 4 waters 2 beers and 5 sodas? I will pay for those too but never coming back here again. After 30 years of patronage, this is how it ends. HOPE YOUR EXPERIENCE IS BETTER IF YOU CHOOSE TO...
Read moreBest Greek restaurant in Florida. Any time we are passing by, we stop here for the flaming cheese and Greek Chou Mein. We found this Gem of a restaurant over 20 years ago. The food continues to always be amazing! The atmosphere is inviting and they are recently completed some renovations which really feel cozy and family oriented. The wait staff is phenomenal. This past time, Lorena was our Waitress! She did an outstanding job and I barely had to ask for anything. She took excellent care of us and we will be asking for her in the future visits. I have always loved their Saganaki better known as Flaming Cheese. The fry up a cheese plank, bring it to your table, pour a shot on it and light it on fire. The whole process is exciting and contagious. As soon as we have it, the rest of the customers want some too. After the flaming cheese, we get their Greek Chou Mein which is sautéed green peppers, onions, shredded feta cheese and rice pilaf with your choice of meat, we always get their Gyro. We love it so much that we always order 1-5 dishes to go and have for the next week or two. Amazing mouth watering, I am getting hungry just writing this review. Spectacular experience, a special place everyone needs to stop by and eat a meal here. Portion size is huge, the Gyro Greek Chou Mein is enough for 4 people. We also got a Greek salad and Rice pudding for dessert. Just the perfect meal. Thank you...
