Well, where do I begin...1st, I will say there are some REALLY neat stuff at this shop, sorta reminds me of a Flea Market, at least the outside. Anyway, my wife, myself and my oldest daughter made a trip from Tampa on Mon Oct 5th to visit Tarpon Springs one of our favorite places to visit, we try and go at least 2 or 3 times a year, we have a lot of places we like to go visit. So, our 1st stop was at Tarpon Home and Garden, a place my wife and I love to browse and we have bought a few pieces from there, we wanted to show our daughter Jessica this unique place. After walking all the way to the back my wife found an item that she liked and wanted, so I proceeded to carry it up to the front and was hoping to maybe get a better deal on it, we were planning on buying a few more pieces, spend some more money. I met this gentleman on the way to the front and showed it to him and asked if I could get a better price. Whooaaaaaa!! Shouldn't have done that! At that moment he grabbed the item from my hand and said "I'll take this back and return it to its area!!' I said, 'What?!!' "I just asked if I could get a lower price on it, following him back. He stated "We don't lower our Prices on any of our items!!" We just about decided NOT to buy ANYTHING but my wife wanted it and after being married almost 45 years, I always want to make my wife happy. Let me tell you a little bit about myself, 1st after being in the Marines, I came home from California, I started raising a family. Started a Wallpaper and Painting business which I Owned and Operated for over 25 years. I had to deal with Customers who as well always tried to haggle with me on my bids and Pricing. I would NEVER treat my Customers or carry on the way this gentleman did with me!! Even now, as I run my 2nd business of Singing and Entertaining, I'm constantly dealing with potential Clients wanting to get a lower better price, I certainly don't act like this guy did, whoever or whatever his name was. I try and work with the Customer or Client with my pricing. You'd think he be happy that we were there wanting and willing to spend our money at his place!! So just be VERY leery of this guy who sez he owns this place and DON'T expect to get ANY deals here at all, he's the definition of a Jerk! Most likely we'll NEVER spend another penny at this place ever again after being treated the way we...
Read moreMy dad spent $150 in there about a week ago and we decided to go back because there were some other things he wanted to think on and decided he wanted. The lady at the front with short hair was rude when we first walked in when my dad tried to talk to her and be friendly and she was buried in her phone. We had to use the restroom first and foremost because we just came from a restaurant and we asked if there was a restroom and she didn’t even bother to look up and said “nope” so we walked out and won’t be back. It’s a shame because they have cute stuff reasonably priced for the area. No customer service whatsoever. Read moreTerrible customer service. I have bought eight Florida Dancing Birds at this store, one of which is the Pelicans. The Pelican has broken at the head because of the design. The owner Dave Sterns said he has had a few do that. I brought it back and asked for an exchange of a different bird. The owner was very nasty and argumentative that he gets nothing back from the distributed and willl only exchange the bird if it is in good condition. I wouldn’t be bringing it back if it’s in good condition. I told him I would be writing a review. He said good I need a bad review every now and then.
