As a true pizza lover, I enjoy trying all styles and brands of pizza. Thick, thin, Chicago, New York, pan, Sicillian, etc.. I love 'em all...or so I thought, until I tried Rick's
Located off Klosterman road, Rick's pizza is for lack of a better word...terrible. I really wanted to like this place, but they make it so hard. I have been here twice and both times had just a terrible experience.
We ordered delivery the first time around. After almost 2 hours and 3 phone calls, are pizza arrived. I can understand a wait for delivery, but 2 hours is unacceptable, especially when we were told 30-45 minutes on the phone. I hate to be critical, but the driver smelled so badly of cigarettes, that the pizza box smelled like it as well. Needless to say, after waiting two hours the pizza was cold and had obviously sat around for a while before being delivered. Our "Capri" pizza sounded like it was going to be wonderful, but was an oily, mess of over ripe tomatoes and cheese.
I was willing to forgive Rick's and try it again. This time I figured I would just pick up the pizza to avoid the cigarette smell, long wait and bad experience. This time around we ordered the "Popeye" pizza. After being on hold for almost 10 minutes, someone took my order and told me my pizza would be ready in 20 minutes. I showed up 15 minutes later for pickup, only to be told that Rick's was out of spinach. Really? At this point I almost gave up, but decided to go with the old classic...pepperoni and cheese, easy right? Wrong...after another 20 minutes waiting, my pizza was presented to me. I paid and returned home to enjoy our pizza. However, when I opened my pizza it had no pepperoni, but sausage instead. I called Rick's to let him know and he was rude, unhelpful and he said that I ordered sausage, not pepperoni. I told him I was very sure of what I had ordered, but he didn't seem to care and hung up on me. I called back and there was no answer.
I am not a hard man to please. I try to be fair and leave positive reviews. However, based on this kind of experience, I have to say the only thing worse than the pizza is...
Read moreI have never written a review in my life. I have worked in the restaurant industry before so I get it that mistakes happen. However a month or so ago, we ordered 2 medium pizzas and one of the pizzas was incorrect on top of our incorrect wing order as well. I called the store to let them know because this has happened more than once when we receive our order via delivery. They told us the next time we order, to give my phone number and name when I call and they will know about the free pizza. They wanted to rectify it by giving us a “free pizza the next time we order” rather than issue a refund because it will guarantee the customer will most likely come back to get that pizza and potentially by some other food too. I just wanted to make them aware because my family and I really enjoy their pizza. Fast forward to Sunday night, I call and place an order for my free pizza and additionally added 12 wings with extra ranch. Come to realize when I checked my bank statements this morning my card was charged THREE separate times. $12, $47, and another $12. Even if we paid for the medium pizza and the wings it should have been about $35. So where did they come up with a total of $72? And why was the card charged THREE times? Like I said before we tried to give the benefit of the doubt even after the constant inconsistency’s because we think the pizza is good and support small business but it seems as though something always happens. I understand people make mistakes but to charge someone’s card 3 times without permission is pretty much considered theft which is absolutely unacceptable regardless because that means my debit card number must of been written down somewhere for them to make two additional charges on it without me physically swiping my card if I was in person. So that will be the last time we will ever order. I’m not saying don’t order from them but just be very careful if you’re ordering over the phone. Hopefully this incident can be taken care of due to how serious...
Read moreSunday evening 6pm. If you are in this area, this place is a must. Kitchen was a bit slow, but well worth the wait. Our server, Hailee is awesome, very attentive to the customers, friendly, smiling. I am picky when it comes to waitresses, but Hailee did a great job. We got Ricks sampler for an appetizer. Mozzarella sticks were great, fried ravioli was a different taste but something worth trying. Jumbo wings( garlic teriyaki)were super crunchy, so good if you like that. Garlic knots were delicious even without any marinara sauce. Even the salad that came with dinner was good, fresh veggies and the ranch dressing was yummy too. Entree was the baked ravioli, changed it up and got the Alfredo sauce, this dish is absolutely deliciousness. I loved it. Dessert included a canoli plain, which was very good. I also got the Skyscraper Red Velvet cake. This is a HUGE slice of cake and I just love how wonderful this dessert is. The food is fantastic here and Hailee is a wonderful server and the staff is super friendly. There is pizza here, many other entrees, salad, soups AND plenty of desserts. Definitely worth stopping by for dine in or pick up. UPDATE: Came back Monday at 730, not busy. Hailee is super attentive and I just love her smile, she is so pleasant. Mozzarella sticks-beautiful presentation and tastes as delicious as before. Ordered shrimp scampi with angel hair pasta without the wine sauce (Cannot have alcohol), I didn't like this dish, it was too lemony, maybe the wine makes the dish. Bf got the meat sauce with spaghetti, I tried a bite..THIS is a great dish. Had dessert... Ny cheesecake with whip cream. Unfortunately, they were out of whip cream. But it was very delicious without it. Still... it's a great...
