Blazin Shawarma — Restaurant in Taylor

Chicken was good, but wasn’t enough lettuce, ran out after the first few bites of the bowl. Wasn’t able to substitute lettuce for tabbouleh, they have limited topping variety (no jalapeños or mild peppers, just pickles) the part that really got me is that the spicy shawarma bowl isn’t displayed as an up charge but when u order it it’s an extra $.75 and it’s just the garlic sauce that comes with the regular bowl but they add a teaspoon of Mexican salsa on top of it….. I actually laughed out loud when I saw that I was expecting it to be some sort of chipotle style fire sauce that you see at a lot of places like this but it’s literally just a spoonful of salsa on top of the garlic… I think that should be verbally explained or on the menu, left feeling a bit bamboozled due to that last part. Overall would come here again but I think they need to expand their toppings menu and allow more customization to compete with restaurants that sell the same stuff for the same price.

This place is AMAZING.... Usually I drive out to Lincoln Park to get a good Kafta sandwich. I have tried a few places down river and they have all tasted so bland thats why I usually drive out there and I was just telling my husband that I wish Taylor had more middle eastern type restaurants. I was driving down Telegraph a few days ago and saw Blazin Shawarma. We tried it for the first time today and honestly 10/10. I tried their Kafta wrap and it is absolutely amazing 10/10 the flavor was absolutely perfect. I also got hummus also 10/10. The staff was really nice and the place was nice and clean. Had the best experience two days in a row! Ordered the chicken shawarma bowl yesterday through takeout, and it was amaaazing. I could only eat a portion of my meal (huge portion for the price) but fell in love with the garlic sauce...and went back in tonight to ask if they sold it individually so I could finish the meal.
