Big Boy — Restaurant in Taylor

We used to eat here all the time. Big Boy restaurant's, not this particular location. We ordered from here during Ramadan. The food is really good. Although, my most recent order was a little questionable because my omelette and hash browns were bland and contained absolutely no seasoning. So breakfast is not their strong point. However, everything else was good. I especially love their Philly Cheesteak sub. However, I want to talk about the racism my family and experienced on Mother's Day, 2022. Jasmine was our cashier. She was wonderful, but her counterparts we're high key racist! Especially one server, an elderly Caucasian woman with red hair. She was so openly racist it was disgusting and I almost came out of character until Jasmine came with her lovely energy to change my mood. The racist server literally took care of only white customers. She served a customer, a white male, then looked directly at me and my brother said nothing. She proceeded to speak to the white family behind us and when she was done with her customer she left, let Jasmine handle us. I would like to note that even though Jasmine is mixed she's clearly black. In my eyes she wanted to let Jasmine handle her people whilst she handled people who were of her own complexion. She didn't wanna serve coloreds. Plain and simple. Probably put that on her application too lol. When Jasmine was finished, she came back to take care of the other family.She was very disrespectful with it. Two you black girls came in once we were done placing our orders, and even though she greeted them, it was so nasty, and her energy and demeanor were so terrible, they didn't even speak back. I wasn't the only one who could feel the racial tension with her a customer straight up told us she forgot to greet us. I told him she did it on purpose.It also raised some suspicion in me about online ordering too. I live in Detroit and I ordered only once successfully. The other times, they cancelled my order for no reason. I don't even think they like delivering to predominantly black neighborhoods. I also wonder what their back story is. I bet it's racist. Really disappointed with my dine-in experience my advice check your bill before you pay. They WILL try to steal money from you! Me and a family member decided to have dinner at this location. They ordered the slim Jim with a cup of soup $9.49 I ordered a strawberry shake $4.49 an the slim Jim with fries $9.49 and add-on salad bar I got one small salad and one cup of soup. Normally the salad bar add-on to your meal should be $5.99 they charged me $12.99 for salad bar and charged me $5.99 for add-on salad bar. I immediately asked to speak with a manager who agreed with me I was overcharged but he would only take off the $5.99 salad bar addon and not the $12.99 salad bar meal because I had fries with my meal when that's the whole point of ordering the salad bar add-on with your meal. If I ordered a small side salad and a cup of soup it still would have been cheaper than the $12.99 they tried to overcharge me and when I caught them they still charged me the most expensive amount and was unwilling to correct or compensate for the situation so I'm convinced they tried to steal from me and they knew the whole time. They rewrote my bill up and brought it to me and the waitress said I basically screwed it up for everybody because now they're going to have to charge everybody $12.99 for the add-on and that defeated the whole purpose of add-on salad bar which I agree totally coming from the waitress herself. It was NOT BUSY. So I do not understand why it took over 2 hours to get our food. My party was for three. Two adults and a toddler. My son's pancakes were cold and dry. My waffle was also cold and undercooked. My chicken was not tender but hard and was just warm. My soup was the only thing that came hot. My to go order was also AWEFUL the hamburger was pink inside despite telling her I wanted it WELL DONE but not burnt. The mushrooms felt old like rubber. I had to cook it the rest of the way myself! uggg My friends fries were at two different tempatures and mainly because some were cooked to the brink of hard and others cold and undercooked. Her chicken was also the same as mine. I told the server and she offered to "HEAT IT UP" did I come for reheated food, NO, I did not. I expect food to come hot not cold and half done or overdone to the point it's unedable.. (I WAS DUMBFOUNDED THAT SHE DID NOT OFFER TO HAVE IT REMAID. I JUST LOOKED AT HER WITH AN EXPRESSION OF DISBELIEF). Our server was not attentive at all. She did not refill our drinks She did not come check on us She did not give us the bill I had to walk up to the counter after waiting nearly 30 minutes for our bill. HONESTLY I SHOULD HAVE JUST WALKED OUT. Never in my life even with a party of 40 people have I waited from start to finish nearly 4 hours for food to be served and bill to be handed to us.
