Ordered take out and when we got home we did not get our sides. No big deal I know this happens, called them and they said I could come and get them. I went to pick them up and when we got in the car we checked to see if everything was correct. We were still missing the rice. I went back in and let them know they still for got the rice. They reluctantly gave me the rice. As I was driving home they called me and accused me of getting free rice. I went over the order with them again and explained we never received the rice and she said that’s fine you can keep the rice. Argued with me and then hung up. I called back when I got home and asked to talk with a manager. They told me they were reviewing the cameras and were going to call me back. I explained that I was very upset with them accusing me taking extra rice. By then they were done looking at the cameras and apologized. This was handle extremely poorly and I will not be back after being accused of stealing food, a side of rice. I still cannot believe the nerve of calling me on the way home and how far they went with checking the security cameras to see if they gave us extra rice. After the whole experience I didn’t even eat the food I was so mad. Horrible experience! Which is unfortunate because previous to this we liked going to this restaurant’s...

My daughter and I went here for dinner. We USE to enjoy this restaurant but it has really gone down hill. When I placed my order I let the waitress know I'm highly allergic to avocado and asked for it to be removed from my Pollo Asado. My daughter ordered the Tacos al Cabor with chicken fajita meat. My plate came out with fresh avocado slices that were on top of and touching all the food. I again explained to the waitress that I had a severe avocado allergy and couldn't eat anything on this plate now. She took my plate to the back and in less than 2 minutes returned with the SAME plate minus avocado. This should have been made fresh as to not hurt me. Sadly that didn't happen. Only after I had to refuse the same plate a second time did they offer to make me something else. Sadly I didn't feel like they understood and couldn't trust them with my safety. My daughter's tacos were horrible and luke warm. The chicken had zero flavors and tasted like prepackaged meat found in the grocery store. The flour tortillas were hard and definitely not fresh. Sadly due to the lack of competence in the staff and quality of the food we will not be returning nor would I recommend to...

This is one off our families favorite place in Taylor for Mexican food! We have been known to go more than once a week. The food is always delicious! My husband and I usually get steak fajitas and add about 6 shrimp for an additional small fee. The beans and rice come with the meal as well as tortillas. The beef is always so tender and cooked perfectly! The margaritas are very tasty and go great with our meal. The service is friendly but during busy times it seems a bit slow, especially if you're with a bigger sized group table, however, the food makes it worth the wait. The restaurant allowed us to bring in gifts and a birthday cake to celebrate my birthday and the whole place dang along to happy birthday. It's a fairly small sitting area with a few bar seats available as well. If there's a wait to be seated, the front of the store has a few places to sit outside to visit as well as a small sitting area in doors. Definitely a great place to...

The food is Tex-Mex, not really authentic. To start of the chips and salsa come with red chips salsa and what's seems like ranch-jalapeño dip (nobody in our table was a fan of it). I had the "caldo de mariscos" (seafood soup) it was decent, everyone else was not very impressed with the food. They didn't seem to have tortas or tacos from other meats like cabeza, barbacoa, tripe, tongue or similar meats. The waiters were young and inexperienced, seems like we had to keep asking for things instead of being asked if we needed anything, and it also seems like they need to hire more waiters.

This place is an absolute hidden gem. If you’re looking for something different from your usual Texmex food, this is the spot. The food here is all so vibrant and full of flavor. The chipotle enchiladas are smoky, spicy, and delicious. The salsa is the best in town, and the cilantro dip they bring out with the chips is unlike anything you’ll ever taste. I could dip my hand in that sauce and eat it. The creole pasta is also fantastic, with a great blend of proteins and a really flavorful and zesty sauce. If you’re in or near Taylor, you owe it to yourself to stop by Monarcas.

The hostess seemed like she was struggling and not friendly, probably due to a very busy holiday. I know they are short staffed which did take a long to for someone to take our order but the server was super nice. The food was good but I couldn’t eat it anyone due to finding a hair in my food which was highly disappointing.
