I love this restaurant. LOVE. Crystal and T are wonderful waitresses and have always been amazing whenever we stop by. Crawfish Etouffe - Amazing, one of my favorites ever. Great flavor, seasoning, and portion. Fried seafood - LOVE the scallops, oysters, shrimp, crawfish, and catfish. Grilled seafood - LOVE the shrimp and scallops (the seasoning they use on these is amazing), red snapper, red fish, cat fish. Gumbo - I think it's good but mild in flavor but the boyfriend loves it, especially with the po boy bread so YMMV. Grilled vegetables - 10/10, I'm not sure exactly how they grill the vegetables but it's always perfectly cooked and this is my favorite place to get broccoli. Po boys - boyfriend has really liked all the po boys he's gotten (catfish and crawfish) Cocktail sauce - seems to be homemade and it's fantastic. We eat our french fries with that instead of ketchup and it's great with fried seafood.

For the public: you better off just keep driving past it To the Owner: 1- sat for 10 minutes, one servant (nice girl) but i had to walk towards the kitchen to grab a menu myself 2- salad came in, very simple and dry, too cold 🤦‍♂️ veggies were taken straight from a bag in the freezer 👎 2 slices of tomatoes and all was thrown there as if you are servinga dog ... please drop some olive oil on it so it at least makes it more appealing 3- ordered the 14 ounce steak, and im pretty sure u serve the 8 and 14s ones in the same dishes coz i wasnt even able to cut the steak ( no space in the dish and that knife was worse than a plastic one) 4- ordered it medium rare and it came welk done and too oily 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️☹ 5- veggies were meeeh good and shrimp were like 6/10 CHANGE THE CHEF ASAP ... first and last timer and from the looks of it your chef has to be a cousin or your wife to just put them in that miserable kitchen

Wow! I'm sure glad we decided to stop in for lunch on our way home from Elgin back to Georgetown. Years ago this place was a Sirloin Stockade where I once reluctantly sat thru a high pressure sales pitch for home fire alarm systems in order to eat a free steak dinner. Today it's just a great place to indulge in large plates of perfectly seasoned and cooked catfish along with lots of other seafood, cajun and meat selections for very moderate prices. The multi page menu is extensive but we stuck to the back page of lunch specials. Lisa was our server and she did a fantastic job. The #12 catfish lunch special with 3 pieces was equivalent to 6-7 filets anywhere else. They were huge! I can't wait to find a good reason to swing back through Taylor so we can try something else on the menu.

This was the first, and will probably be the only, time to ever eat here.

The server: Not sure if she was new or just clueless. Either way, probably needs more training before taking tables on her own or needs cliff notes in her order book. Everything (I literally mean EVERY thing) we asked her "Uhhh..." (while scrunching her face trying to think of an answer) "Ummm... leeet me go ask someone." Had to ask for a refill. Someone else brought us a to-go box. As soon as we sat down and gave her our drink order, she asked if we were ready to order. We told her "We just got here. We have never been here before, give us a few minutes to look over the menu." She goes and gets our drinks, "Are you ready to order?" We reiterated we haven't ever been there, we are trying to look at the menu. Not a minute later. "Are you ready to order?" I guess nobody has ever trained her that if people still have enough their menus open and are still reading them, to wait. We told her we would waive her over as soon as we figured it out. So, we did. There were 2 of us. We wanted to share an appetizer and an entree. She brings the salad (that comes with the entree) out with a 2nd salad plate/bowl. The entree and app came out right after, together. We asked for a 2nd plate. She said "I already gave you an extra plate." So, we asked if we could have another extra plate. An extra dinner plate... that was pretty much the end of the interactions with our server.

Pricing: First issue. Alaskan King Crab. $27/lb or 1.5 lbs for $47. We asked the server how this could be right. She went and asked and came back and said that was just the price. So $27 for 1 lb. $20 for an additional 1/2 lb on the same order? So, it would be BETTER to order a LOT more... $54 for 2 lbs, 2 sides, 2 salads. Once you order 1.5 lbs, for $7, you get another 1/2 lb crab, another salad and another side.

If you pay with a credit card, there is a 3.5% service fee. If you have never been here before, you are expected to know that there is a sign off to the side, where you won't see it upon entering the restaurant. They do NOT put this on the checks to let you know. If the sign is above the register, servers should NOT take the payment. ESPECIALLY when they have been told their customers have never been there before. I was not given the option to save that money by paying cash.

That being said, the food was good. The gentleman bussing the table was kind and attentive; he got us most of what we needed.

Mainly due to shady pricing, this is a restaurant I will not return to.

This is the 1st time in 20 years that I have not tipped 20%. Well, technically I did. However, the restaurant kept a...

Honestly extremely frustrated with the acts of the "management" a member of my party was dissatisfied with their food. She only ate a spoonful of her meal and asked for it to be taken off the bill. Our server took the food in back and came back a while later saying that the person in back "doesn't see anything wrong with the food" and that my friend would be paying for her untouched meal. My party bought several appetizers and collectively spent probably $150 - $180 dollars so I can't fathom why taking off 17-18 dollars for a single plate would be so difficult. We contested the message given to us by the waitress and asked for the "manager" to come out and explain why we needed to pay for an uneaten meal. Waitress went to the back for a couple minutes and returned without the "manager". She was distraught and told us that she (the waitress) was going to have to pay for the uneaten food and that the "manager" didn't see a reason to come to our table to talk about our issue. Our distraught waitress disappeared and we sat for a few moments until I reached my boiling point. I grabbed another staff member and asked them to bring me the management.

Finally the woman in charge came out. We brough up the situation and the first thing out of her mouth was "if you didn't like what you ordered why did you order it". Unbelievable, she stood by that sentiment our entire conversation. She was rude, unprofessional, and disrespectful. Again, my party spent a decent amount of money and most of what we ordered tasted great. But the disrespectful for an employee and client by this "manager" is insane. They did remove it from our bill nearly 20 minutes after the fiasco started. I doubt anything will come of this review, but unfortunately unless something is done I'll never be going back, and I loved this restaurant since I've moved...

I will NEVER be back at this establishment again! We went last night (about 30 mins before closing). We asked if they were open and could handle a family of 5 and were told yes. The service was absolutely horrible! We were there forever because the waiter was too busy on the phone instead of doing his job. He had a horrible attitude and never checked on us once giving us our meal. We never even received refills on our drinks. Then I was honest enough to tell him that he didn’t charge me for my meal. He comes back with a ticket showing he charged my card even more than he should have... that’s because he added my meal and changed my daughter’s steak meal to a more expensive meal than what she had. I had to ask for a new receipt to see why it was so expensive because he only gave me the receipt that showed my card charged. Then he argued with me about the price and had to “show” me how much it was on the menu only to find out that I was right... arguing with the customer is always a good idea!

Then... icing on the cake? I called the manager today to complain about the horrible service and had him argue with me instead of trying to make it right... again, arguing with the customer! Now I see why the employees do it... they have a poor excuse for an example.

You’d think restaurants would be grateful for their customers... especially given the circumstances, but that doesn’t seem to be the case here! First time customer and will NEVER be back! Next time just say you cannot handle a family of 5 before closing... that’s a better way of handling the situation! I forgot to mention that when I called to ask if they were open, the person who answered said “hello” and I had to ask if they were the restaurant and all he said was “yea.”

I have a pic of the waiter on the phone... too bad I cannot...
