Updating from 1 star to 3 We decided to try them again. It's very possible they do read these and made some changes. They said nothing about us not wearing masks. Their highchairs were cleaner. Their employee whom rang us up was very cheerful which was a nice change. The variety was WAY better. They actually had the stromboli which I hadn't seen since they reopened and is my favorite. I'd honestly forgotten about it until my husband put it on my plate. My eyes lit up 😍. Wish they'd have ham/hawaiian on their rotation consistently. Haven't seen that out unless we specifically ask. We will continue coming and as experiences consistently improve, I will update.
I hesitated to post this. But it's been 2 weeks and I'm still uncomfortable returning to your restaurant. We've been coming for years. At times, weekly. With 3 kids 3 and under it's been the best outing for us as a family. We've loved it. That is.. until 2 weeks ago. You have plastic shields over your food. You have guests each take a fresh plate and tongs for each round at the buffet. It was not a busy night but when my husband went up for what would've been our 4th plate (he grabs for us all, we share) you very rudely told him that if he didn't put a mask on next time he came up you would ask us to leave. You didn't legally assume he had a medical exemption (which he does). You didn't even ASK if he had one. You were very rude and quite honestly your actions were criminal. This is still America. My husband fought for this country that you so lazily and happily get to enjoy. And you REFUSE to serve him. A veteran. Because he didn't wear a mask to go grab 3 slices of pizza while he was using a clean plate, with clean tongs, with no one around, with a plastic shield over your pizza, only to go sit down next to tables of other people without masks on! Shame on you!
Oh and your highchairs were all FILTHY by the way. Your dinosaur shooter game has a wire console sticking out since at least JANUARY. In a KIDS area. Your employees have always been unfriendly and look miserable. All but one. He's always been your unspoken VIP to us but we haven't seen him since you reopened.
Clean up your act! We probably will never return. Which probably won't hurt you but I can't tell you how sad it makes me for my boys who LOVE...
Read moreMr. Gattis has been a fun place for families to dine in for so many years. It has been over 6 months since my family has last dined in at the Taylor location. Food- The buffet was very limited and this was at lunchtime. However, they seemed to be working on it. I didn't mention anything to the staff. They were doing their best. Environment- At the buffet, I over heard the male manager being very inappropriate with a young female worker. He was talking rudely to her regarding her making sure she stirs the pasta every so often. He was also very short with a few other workers. Fast forward, in the game room, I had an unpleasant encounter with a rude young female worker (the same one that the manager was being rude to). A game took our points and didn't function properly and I talked to her about it and I wanted to be refunded my points back on the game card. She gave me unnecessary attitude and told me that she couldn't do anything about it and said that the games are 'rigged anyways'. Also said she just works here and she can't control the machines. Let me clarify, I was not rude. I was looking for a resolution to the problem as the machine was not working. She said the manager would speak to me but he didn't. He was hiding in the kitchen and looked right at me. I feel so bad for the assistant manager. I waited at the counter and requested to speak to her. She was very nice and told me that the manager couldn't do anything about it. She was almost in tears and said she was new and they were short staffed but I could sense that this is not a healthy work environment at all. I hope the owner sees this and speaks to the manager ASAP. I will not come back to this location. The games are malfunctioning and customers are being told that "thats just the game". No, it's not. I also witnessed a young boy lose his money too on the same machine and was told the same as me. The manager made me feel very uncomfortable in the way he was speaking to the young worker and the way he stared at me from a distance. He needs some major counseling ASAP. I was told they were short staffed but this is no way to treat paying customers, especially young kids who just want to go play and have fun. I'm sure their parents wouldn't appreciate them...
Read moreAbysmal is a word that most comes to mind when describing this place. Took my children for my daughters birthday today and paid almost $70 for 2 adults and 2 small kids on a buffet that was maybe half stocked with pizza that had been sitting so long the tips of the slices were curling from being dried out. I heard a lady have to ask them to make some new pizzas after no one in her party wanted the beady, dried out hamburger pizza that looked more like an overbaked cookie or any of the other appetizing choices that were there like rubber sole-chewy chicken or brown nipple-roni they seemingly have had delivered from their eastside location on the fricking sun. After accepting defeat on the buffet, I took the kids to play games only to find EVERY OTHER GAME IN THE ROOM WAS OUT OF ORDER. Even the working games were inconsistent and glitchy. The bowling game ate two credits, then registered no scores, which means my son got to play without knowing if he even hit pins. A crane game was so glitchy, you'd push the button and the crane continued to move, then dropped quickly onto nothing. The basketball games only have one or two basketballs on some of them so you pay your credit and burn most of your turn waiting for the ball to return. Id play ski-ball and score thousands of points higher than a previous try and it would give me 5-7 less tickets than when I scored higher. Even worse, they have balls of various size, some white and some blue and some are different in weight and clog the area where you grab them to scoop, so you inconsistently shoot every other time. Everything is broken, damaged, glitchy, errant, or lazily cobbled back together. If I had to give a compliment, I will say I have never seen so many greasy handprints in one place as I did here. What a truly disappointing experience. SKIP THIS PLACE!!! Its either owned by someone who doesnt give a crap and just lets it fall apart despite the complaints or its a cash grab where they just dont give a crap and the attitude and lack of care has leaked from the top of the totem all the way down to the bottom. AVOID!...
