I love this establishment. The parking lot in back is large and quite spacious.
The choices are: Buffet; separate Meals; Fountain drinks; bottled alcoholic beverages; all clearly posted as you enter.
I do understand not everyone will choose the first fork their fingers rest upon which is why I LOVE their method of having silverware available -- all packaged in slender envelopes, a more antiseptic option.
Other items on my list to check off when thinking about a restaurant: bathrooms, environment, seating, lighting, servers, and selection.
First of all, the ladies bathroom is ALWAYS clean! It is so hard to find bathrooms in pristine condition ... I should know as I have in past employment scrubbed plenty of toilets, disinfected all surfaces, and stocked paper and soap products, removed trash ... I'm not going to speak an untruth; I even take my own Hand Sanitizer to clean the toilet seat at other locations.
*Sirloin Stockade has a pleasant environment ... I do not feel rushed as I order upon entering; all my questions are answered with great patience and a smile.
*Seating availability is plentiful, whether one may choose a booth seat, or a table area: you don't feel boxed in and don't have to run a gauntlet, bumping in to another chair as you get back to your table.
*The lighting in the restaurant is great! I personally think that's the best feature in any restaurant due to the fact safety is most important: my husband has an issue with his vision and I'm nearsighted; needless to say, I'd like to see where I am walking as I have a deep dislike to kissing the floor.
*The servers are very pleasant and frequently ask if you'd like refills of your beverages and offer coffee as well. I usually order unsweetened tea with lemon wedges; my husband enjoys fountain drinks. They will remove your plates from your table after asking if you are finished with it. They also bring to your table yeast hot rolls, baked potatoes, and french fries, if interested. On Friday evenings, they ask if you'd like steak and baked potato, which to my huge surprise was included in the buffet! Occasionally, I will add Prime Rib to my dinner buffet for $3 more. Wherever I go, I order my beef super well done; I'm always happy with my steak and/or Prime Rib when I visit Sirloin Stockade.
All diners can serve themselves at all food stations. I quite prefer to use a plastic plate (colorful options for children) much lighter versus the stones are plates. The salad bar, which I must say, is most pleasant to look at as it is well chilled -- consisting of a wide range of salads, various toppings, various fruits, sealed packages of crackers, and salad dressings (in bottles as well as self-serve selections).
There are many sides to choose from: broccoli, cauliflower, corn, mixed vegetables, carrots, spinach, pizza slices, mashed potatoes, green beans, sweet potatoes, mac-n-cheese, two types of gravy, shrimp, clam strips, two selections of soup.
Main items include Liver and onions, Pot roast, Fried chicken, Fried Catfish (served on Wed & Fri), Sausage and Sauerkraut, Spaghetti, and other options.
Desserts include slices of various types of pies, Cherry cobbler, Vanilla pudding, Bread custard, various types of cookies, soft serve ice cream.
The most important of all: I NEVER feel as if I am being rushed while visiting this restaurant ... Most establishments are ready to swipe the plate out from under you as your fork is poised in the air to continue eating; when that occurs, that is my last visit to that location. For those reading this post who might be thinking ... YES !! -- I ALWAYS leave the server a tip because they do...
Read moreDear Round Rock and Taylor store managers and owners, I am a loyal customer of both the around Rock and Taylor stores and I wanted to brag on one of the waitresses that works in both locations. Cassy is such a pleasure to interact with when I come into the stores. I have a regular day and time that I go to the RR store and she puts out my drink at the table I sit just before I sit down. She calls me by name and remembers my habits and preferences every time. When I go to the Taylor store she makes sure to tell me hello even if my company wants to sit in a different section than hers. She brightens my days everytime I go.
That is not all… I am an observer and have seen her interactions with other guests. She is knows a lot of them and is able to connect with each one personally in some way. She is able to communicate with both English and Spanish speaking families and her humor and smile are contagious. She is very attentive to all her guests in her service as well. Her memory of preferences is amazing and she goes out of her way to help those customers of all ages. Her approach is a “neighborly” one bringing smiles to most.
She is more than a waitress for your team. She is the reason people keep coming back to your stores.
I just wanted the managers and owners to know the positive impact she is making for Sirloin Stockade.
She is a “keeper.”
Thank you for your time. Make today a good...
Read moreDO NOT GO HERE! The staff and manager are rude and unprofessional. My mother’s went for lunch and the lady at the counter had the worst attitude! My mothers are elderly so it takes them a little bit longer to move around and the lady at the counter was very inpatient and rude to them. Once they got seated the waitress ignored them and would not get them their drinks , when they asked for a baked potato she told them to get it herself even though she was serving everyone else one. When they asked to speak with a manager the manager did nothing. My mother asked for a number of someone she could call and tell them about her experience and the cooperate office did not care. All they said was that they would check the cameras and get back to her but we all know what that means. I understand everyone has those days and restaurants are busy this time of year BUT it takes absolutely nothing to be kind and patient. You have no idea what anyone else is going through, for people like my parents who don’t get out much the highlight of their days are going to lunch when they can and this whole thing crushed them. To have to PAYING customers walk out of your restaurant in tears and you do absolutely nothing and say nothing is wild. It amazes me the type of people that get put in...
