Angelo's Pizza — Restaurant in Taylorville

I went here for dinner 5/29 with some friends and we didn’t have a pleasant dining experience. I was surprised to see this place rated so highly and to have received the poor customer service and sub par food. Our waitress had an attitude with us from the start. When she gave us our drinks she, didn’t give us straws so we had to ask another waiter for them. The lemonade tasted like dish soap. We ordered onion rings as an appetizer which had no flavor to them. We asked our waitress to take them off of our bill because we did not like them she went up front and laughed with her coworkers before coming back to tell us she had taken them off our bill. I ordered chili Mac, my friends ordered pizzas. My chili Mac was extremely bland. Campbells make a better canned chili than what they put on the plate. The pasta also had been sitting in a warmer for some time as it was not fresh. The pizza wasn’t bad but nothing to write home about. For a garlic sauce pizza it lacked some garlic flavor. Every year about this time, my brother visits from Florida while staying with family, and we all get together at Angelo's for dinner. There were 15 of us this time! Pizza (Angelo's most popular food choice) is what most of us chose to eat. I had the "new" Pickle topped pizza with garlic sauce and ranch dressing and sprinkled with dill. It was DELICIOUS!! There was the Tropical pizza and Pepperoni pizza also, plus basket meals and mushroom appetizers. The young lady who served us was friendly, kind and professional. She had patience with the younger kids ordering food and drinks, she knew her menu items, she refilled drinks quickly, and she never made us feel rushed because we got there at a later time to eat. She was gracious and made our dining experience a really nice time. We of course, will be coming back sooner than next year! Always an A+ for the service and for the servers and kitchen...

Last night, my wife and I had dinner. All went pretty good, service was good. I had a side salad and lasagna....my wife had half chef salad, which we ended up sharing, and a supreme pizza that came home with us, and we shared a meatball sandwich. As I said, all went well until we got home. Shortly after we went to bed, my wife became NASTY sick. Both ends erupting at the same time is NOT a pleasant experience. Since the pizza was the only separate thing eaten during our meal, and she started out belching sausage, the only conclusion to be made is that the sausage on the pizza had to be bad. She was so sick, we didn't actually get to sleep until 5:00 this morning. I know this will post as her writing, but that is only because it's her account.
