3/24/19 update: I wanted to try the Oreo pancakes. It was a Sunday, so a wait was okay. I figured it wouldn't be too long with just one person, even though it was so crowded that there wasn't even standing room in the waiting area. I gave my name, was told it would be about 15 minutes, and waited outside with several other people.
After 20 minutes or so, I noticed there was some room in the waiting area. I went in just as the party of five that arrived when I did was being seated. Next, a guy walked up to the counter and asked for a table for one, and they went to seat him immediately.
I told them I'd been waiting for over 25 minutes for a table for one. The man at the counter immediately told me they'd called my name and I wasn't there. I said I'd been there the whole time, and he said he'd check the list. Sure enough, my name was crossed out, but it's interesting that he was already sure he'd called me before he even knew who I was. He then insisted again that he'd called my name inside AND outside.
If it had just been a matter of forgetting me, I get it. I would have accepted it and simply moved past it. Arguing with me, especially when you are clearly lying, was not acceptable. I walked out and ate elsewhere. They seem busy enough that I'm sure they don't care.
I've eaten at this Ihop before and found the service to be lacking. My experience was that the check was presented as soon as the food came out, and the wait staff disappeared, so no drink refills were possible.
I decided to give it another try, but at this point, I think it's better to try one of the many other options for breakfast, even if they don't have Oreo pancakes.
Original review: The new Grinch pancakes were great - sugary, unhealthy comfort food, with just enough difference from normal pancakes to be interesting... but the service wasn't so good. Five minutes after getting the food, the waitress brought the check and never came back. What good are free refills on drinks if you can't get...
Read moreI've been to this Ihop a few times recently, and maybe the issue is that I always go after 6pm, but the service has always been lack luster, but the service I received this time was just awful. Now I want to start off by saying I know this is an Ihop, I'm not expecting really anything apart from the basics. This is what I want to eat, you give me what I want to eat, I pay, I leave. Simple stuff. But we were seated at a table that had some kind of spill on the floor under us, with crayons and napkins and even a spoon and knife, just all over the floor. We move our table, no problem things happen. We ordered coffees and waters, and our coffee came cold, so obviously wasn't fresh, and we never even got our waters. When our food came, we didn't get our side dishes at first so we thought she was going back for it. When she didn't come back after about 10 minutes I flagged her down and she said that the cooks never put in our side orders? When we finally got our side of toast with the rest, there was no butter no jam, nothing with it. We tried to ask for it but she walked away before we get a word in. Next time she came, about 5 minutes later we weren't even done eating, she left our bill without a word. Now if it was close to closing I'd understand not asking if we wanted anything else, but it was literally an hour and half before closing. I left my card with my fiance to pay while I used the rest room, the waitress grabbed it without a word, smacked it back on the table and said "sign it" and left again. I decided not to leave a tip because the service was terrible and we left.
As we are pulling out the waitress actually comes out and stands in the way of my vehicle to ask me what went wrong and as I tried to explain, she became loud, aggressive and overall confrontational so we left as she was cursing me out. Needless to say we will not...
Read more**update April 2024 less than 4 years later Bidenflation has finally hit iHOP. The $6 entrees like a burger with fries is now a ridiculous $12. Double the price in less than 4 years. Same beef, same buns, same fries, same portions... Now double the price! Drinks were $2 and now they are $4!
**Update December 27, 2020 The outdoor seating has finally been removed so now you have a full parking lot to park in with ease and everyone can sit and eat inside like normal human beings. Awesome ihoppy hour from 2pm till 10pm every day with just $6 for entrees and $4 for sides. Very cool! For this visit, we were seated immediately, no wait. Just 3 mins to take our order. Service is really good! They still need to add more drink variety. If they wont offer Coke products, then at least diet dr pepper or diet root beer please.
*Update July 2020 during crazy lockdowns They now have outdoor seating under a giant tent with festive string lights in the parking lot. It was a very hot afternoon at 1pm, but it was nice eating under the tent and way better than eating in a car. It took 5 mins to get seated with zero customers in front of us. 10 minutes to get our order taken. 20 minutes for the food to be brought to us. Not bad. Only need a mask if you need the restroom inside.
End of update*
February 2020- pre crazy lockdowns: Wait time to get seated was 15 mins. Wait time to order food was 20 mins. Wait time to get food was 7 mins. Not bad. Hamburger was delicious. Pancakes were delicious too. The diet soda selection is limited to diet pepsi only. I would prefer diet coke, diet rootbeer of any brand, or diet dr pepper. Please expand your diet drink selections...
