Medleys Bayou — Restaurant in Teaneck Township

I patronized this restaurant for an Acute Inflections jazz event. The event was nice but the poor service from the serving staff really ruined the experience for me. A couple seated behind me complained loudly their order took 2 1/2 hours to come. Another woman also complained about a long wait for food. There were only about 50 people in the room but there was clearly a disconnect between the staff and the kitchen and management issues handling the volume of orders. I did not order food b/c of the numerous complaints about slow service. I ordered one soft drink and paid in cash. I waited more than 30 minutes for my change in cash all for the waitress to tell me they didn’t have change in their drawer. This was an overall poor experience for me. I hope the owner takes steps to improve communication between the servers and kitchen.There were so many issues and complaints my change became insignificant for them to find. This singularly was the worst service I have ever experienced in my 60 years on earth! Has anyone ever waited 3 hours for dinner? A clueless waitress who forgot to put our order in, forgot to check in on us at our table, charged us for 3 meals when we were just two people, asked me if I wanted the check as I was finally taking a bite of my dinner that took 3 hours to be served and delivered mostly cold entree items that were likely plated when we ordered our meal 3 hours earlier. These people never even offered to comp anything for their paltry service and cold food. It was The most untrained staff and mismanaged establishment I have been exposed to. The only positive were the musicians, but their sound was too big for such a small room that wasn’t acoustically set up properly. Stay away people. I’m not harsh here, just fair. Unfortunately, I can’t even review the food because of the unprofessional service! We made a 12 noon reservation to celebrate my mom’s birthday. We were dressed cute and ready to support this business but unfortunately we were met by locked doors! We called to find out what was going on and the man who made the reservation said he forgot and asked the workers why the door was locked. He apologized and said blame him. We waited some more but no one ever let us in. Hours on the door are from 11-3 Sat brunch....
