Came in with my hubby on Memorial Day at around 1:30 and it wasn't too packed. Everyone was socially distanced - I thought it was cute that they put a parasol on top of the tables where people weren't allowed to sit at. We were sat at a cozy booth (although at times, too cozy because we had to make a couple of requests multiple times). There was no lunch pricing that day, probably since it was a holiday, but we wanted sashimi anyway (which isn't typically included on lunch menus for AYCE anyway) To start, we ordered a kani salad and seaweed salad, which I like to mix together. No complaints here. We normally don't order cooked food from these places but decided to try the shrimp tempura and chicken wing. The shrimp tempura was not bad - your typical Costco freezer aisle shrimp tempura. The chicken wings were dry but at least they were crispy (my husband enjoyed these). We also had a miso soup, which was standard. Now onto the main course. The sashimi were basically regular pieces of sashimi cut in half, but I wasn't mad at it. I actually liked the smaller pieces. Plus, you could always order more. The tuna was unsightly pink but it tasted fine, thankfully. The salmon and white fish were also good. They also have spicy salmon/tuna sashimi, which I was wondering how they would do that. They just put some spicy fish on top of a cucumber slice, which was very innovative. I really liked this because it allowed me to eat spicy fish without the extra carbs. For rolls, we went with the soft shell crab tempura, New York Roll (tuna, salmon, yellowtail jalapeno & tobiko, served with wasabi mayo sauce), and some other ones, which I can't really remember. To be honest, all of the special rolls at fushi places taste the same to me. But I'm not complaining - I know what I'm getting myself into when I come to these places. To finish off, I always like to order a soup before dessert to end my meal (what can I say, I'm Asian). I ordered the tom yum and everyone should avoid this. It smelled and kind of tasted like feet. Stick to the miso. For dessert, they have fried oreo! I'm not a huge fan but it's nice that they have this on the menu because most places don't. Ice cream choices are green tea, red bean, vanilla, and chocolate. Overall, I enjoyed the experience and will definitely make a return visit. There are the small little details they are doing to try and make themselves stand out, which I appreciate.

We noticed a significant improvement from 2021 when we first ate here. Now it is our Favorite All You can eat Spot. Sushi House in Teaneck redefines all-you-can-eat with its extensive selection: Appetizers Dish I think was added recently. And it is a must order especially the Yellowtail Jalapeno and the Yuzu Salmon. - **Sushi & Sashimi**: Freshness is key, with a variety that pleases from the classic tuna to the adventurous salmon. - **Special Rolls**: Standouts include the artfully crafted **Winter Roll** and the vibrant **New York Roll**, each a fusion of taste and visual appeal. - **Kitchen Menu**: Not to be overlooked, dishes like savory **Kalbi** and smoky **Yakitori** offer a delightful excursion from the sushi bar, adding depth to the feast. **Sushi House** offers a comprehensive dining adventure, where the allure of sushi meets the warmth of kitchen-cooked delights, all under one roof in Teaneck.

This is our neighborhood sushi restaurant. I can't tell you the difference new ownership has made. The sushi was mediocre in its previous iteration. Under new ownership, this restaurant has made slight decor updates, but significant food quality improvements. My daughter and I went a couple of months ago when they reopened. It was the first day, the service staff was mostly confused and short on many some items. Since then our family has eaten here 8 or 10 times. The sushi is of good quality, fish is fresh and the lunch buffet is a great bargain. We are grateful that we now have a fantastic eating option in walking distance of our home. As long as prices don't go up, I highly recommend sushi house.

ORIGONAL REVIEW. Was 5 stars....

This place has all of the classic Japanese cuisine and they do it very well I have had take out and also dine in and both are very good I have never been hungry after eating from this place.

UPDATE Its me again. The food is still great but the service has really been bad. 2 times now I have ordered takeout lunch at least 30 mins after the open and had to wait way too long. The first incident I called and asked for takeout bento box (standard dish for takeout Japanese) and the said 40 minute time on a weekday because the kitchen chef was late to work. Ok. It happens. Then I went there an hour later to pick up my food and they made me wait another 40 minutes AFTER PAYING FOR MY FOOD. They said the chef did not show up. No apology. Nothing free not even a can of soda..

Second time. Ugh. Waited an hour after they open, called in an order. They said 30 minutes because the rice was not ready...... Ummmm sushi place open for an hour and rice is still cooking. Well... MEH. I showed up 10 minutes after they told me to.. and my food WAS NOT READY.... and he said 2 minutes. So sorry. ... I waited 10 more minutes and almost left. Best part. They were not busy at all. And one other takeout order was served while I was still waiting. And the girl that picked it up said she ordered it 10 minutes prior.

Food quality great. Service. Worst ever and consistent. Even for dine in. You really should have apologized to me and given me a California roll.

5 bucks or a really bad review. If I was the owner I know what I...

I placed an over the phone delivery order. I ordered a red California roll with soy paper and Manhattan roll no eel also with soy paper, a miso soup and a mango bubble tea. Came out to $30. Delivery time was average about 40 min or so. When I open my food, soup normal, bubble tea prepackaged, and sushi but only one roll was with soy paper. I called and asked for a partial refund the man on the phone said he will not refund me for the roll but he will send someone with a replacement with soy paper. He continued to go on an be rude with me saying how many that’s what I thought I wanted to order (both with soy paper) but it’s not what I said! He went on to say that he remembers what I said exactly and when I said why would I order just one roll with soy paper and not the other he had no answer. So about 45 minutes later the replacement roll shows up with an equally rude delivery driver. He asked for the original roll back, which is fine I had it in the fridge so I could bring home incase someone at home wanted it since I couldn’t eat it. (I can’t digest regular seaweed, so soy paper is the solution). So I brought him the original roll, I asked if the new one is correct he said it’s the same. I checked and it wasn’t but somewhere that is doing a courtesy replacement placement order should try and be a little kinder. Also pretty gross that they wanted the incorrect order back. Makes me think that they will possibly try to resell it to someone else. This was the first and definitely the last time I will...
