I think the important thing you need to know about this restaurant, and you can tell this from the responses from management in the reviews, is that they want you to have a pleasant dining experience and will do everything in their power to make sure you have a satisfactory dining experience.

The staff is friendly and all smiles.

My wife and I had breakfast there on a Super Bowl Sunday morning and it was quite busy. The wait time for our meal was quite long. After we were served and our waitress came buy and asked how everything was we gave an honest critique of our dishes. My wife's meal was not hot and her waffle was rather hard/ tough. We both had sunny-side up eggs that were snotty (give me 10 minutes with the check and I could teach him how to cook proper sunny-side up eggs)

I have never had chicken fried steak in my life so I decided to give theirs a try. Now mind you, since I have nothing to compare it to all I can do is just say what I thought of theirs's: Not impressed. Very thin, mostly just coating on both sides of whatever was inside.

When we were finished with our meal, our waitress informed us that the management was comping our meal and hoped that we might come in again sometime and have a better experience.

This, btw, had nothing to do with me being a google guide, as they had no knowledge of this.

After some frank discussion with the waitress we did learn that they do not make their waffles in house. They come pre-made. Same with their chicken fried steak.

On a positive note --- the highlight of our meal was their fluffy and delicate biscuits they serve with delicious gravy --- ALL MADE IN HOUSE. They could probably brand themselves on their biscuits and gravy alone. And --- No complaints whatsoever about the portion sizes, and the coffee was good.

Like I said, they had no knowledge that I am a google guide and would be doing a review; and I had no knowledge they would end up comping the meals.

I would definitely return to this place because I know they have good biscuits and gravy, attentive staff, and concerned management. I wouldn't order their waffles or chicken fried steak though, and I would ask for my eggs basted or over easy.

All the best to the staff...

This was our first and last time visiting this establishment. We were seated right away, and our drink order was taken and delivered soon after, and we were told that our server would be right with us to take our orders. 45 minutes later, she finally came to our table. Yes. We tried to get someone's attention. Even with the kids getting hungry and starting to act up, they didn't acknowledge us. Finally, they took our order and we waited another 20 minutes for our food. When our food finally arrived, we had to wait again to eat as we didn't have enough silverware. Thank you to the bus girl. She got us some silverware and more napkins. It was rather rude how we were just ignored, and people who came in after us were welcomed, seated, served, and on their way out before we even ordered or got our food. As for the food, the bacon was burnt, and the fish was doughy inside like they cooked the outside to fast but didn't get the inside. But again, our waitress was too busy visiting with other people for us to say...

We were in Tehachapi and decided to eat at Henry’s Cafe because of the good reviews and high rating. I drink a lot of tea when I eat but not at this place. I saw a female waitress sneeze into her hand in the area where they make drinks and she did not stop and go wash her hands. The waitress continued to prepare drinks and more tea, touching everything in the area. No more drinks for me. My food was delivered and as soon has the waitress set the plate down she and I both noticed the hair on my plate. Yuk. She immediately picked the plate back up and returned it to the kitchen. I wish I had told her not to bother bringing me another plate. With the exception of the homemade biscuit, the meal was not enjoyable or worth what it cost. I got the breakfast meal that included a chicken fried steak. The chicken fried steak is a cheap processed version of chicken fried steak and does not taste good. We would not eat there again even if the...

Warm and casual, friendly local spot for breakfast. Huge breakfasts that we couldn't finish and took half to go. Love not being in a touristy spot. Sweet decor, loved the low key vibe. I enjoyed my chorizo scramble, my husband's Chile verde omelette was nicely spiced with a good amount of chile. Give them a try if you are looking for a delicious, substantial breakfast. I should have ordered from their small appetites selection! The menu is pretty inclusive of all things breakfast, i.e, pancakes, French toast, omelettes, oatmeal. They have some vegetarian options as well.

Great food and service. First time there with my son this week and appreciated the friendly service from servers Randalyn and Kennedy. I felt a very family 👪 vibe in the restaurant with abundant friendliness. We had breakfast there and the Omlette was just perfect with excellently prepared "home-cooked" potatoes that were very tasty. Thanks for all at a reasonable price 😀 A great choice for your dining experience!
