I've been a customer of this Primo's for almost 15 years. Every Saturday, like clockwork, I call and order a sausage breakfast burrito to go. I get there ten minutes later, and they usually have it ready, or maybe a short wait. It's never a problem. The counter staff has always been incredibly nice to me, and we often chat and joke while I pay for my food.
Today I ordered over the phone my burrito to go, came in a few minutes later, paid for my food and stood to one side to wait for it to be finished, about 5 feet back from the PICK UP window on the left. The place was empty except for a few people at one booth. I'm standing by the menus on the wall, reading them, and the cook steps to the window and gruffly asks, "What are doing there?" He was someone I'd not seen there before. I usually recognize the cooks. I said, "Just waiting for my food."
"Well, you need to go sit down."
"I'm getting the order to go, so I figure it's easier just to wait near the window. It's no problem."
"No, you HAVE to sit down." he actually points to the booths like a school teacher.
"I'd just like to stand, I sit a lot all day." I replied, keeping my tone calm.
"I'm telling you to SIT OVER THERE!" he says.
"What's the problem? I always stand when I'm about to get my order, there's never been an issue. This is the Pick Up window. I ordered my food To Go."
Well, he told me to leave and he made the counter lady, who looked ashamed, give me a refund. I said, "I'm going to speak to the owner about this. I've been a good customer for almost 15 years." He smirked and said something that sounded like, "Yeah, good luck with that."
If the owner of Tehachapi Primo's reads this, know that as a town local, I've been enjoying your burritos and sometimes onion rings on an almost weekly basis since 2008. Your staff has ALWAYS been fun, friendly, and good at their jobs.
I have no idea what this cook's problem was, and I tried repeatedly to ask him why he was throwing me out. He refused to answer and just smirked at me.
I have never said this before, but he needs to be fired. He's losing you customers, such as this one. I'll never patronize your restaurant again as long as he's there.

Read moreI had heard this place was good. Passing by the town, we stopped by to try it out. First, the place looks very old and dirty from the outside; " don't judge a book by its' cover, or the dirtier the place the better the food" I always hear.. Nope! The service and the food sure resembles the way the outside looks. Second, the cashier/server wasn't very friendly and welcoming. My party and I order the chicken fry stake and eggs breakfast platter with the orange juice beverage. I can say the order came out very fast to the table, but everything was super dry, cold and with lack of flavor; like it had been made in advance and just reheated when placing the order. We never got an acknowledgement, to see how the food was tasting and if we needed anything else. We had no greeter when we first walked in, we had no word of greeting when we left that place.. I left leaving my money and the food...
Read moreThe food was acceptable, but was bland. Both gentleman at the counter were poorly dressed and looked like they hadn't taken the time to practice proper hygiene. The gentleman that took my order was wearing a badly stained T-shirt, and sweatpants. He took out order, and we paid for it, then he informed us that their soda dispenser was out of CO2. This is not even a shadow of what it use to be. The decor is an image of when it was originally established and the newer owners haven't even attempted to update it at all. The booths and chairs are breaking, there's trash on the floor and in the hour we were there, no one bused the tables. We were even offered ketchup for fries. I had to walk to another table that had left and grab it. I should also mention this place is lawsuit waiting to happen. In attempt to cut down their energy they have areas that are dangerously dark....
