Alberto's Mexican Food — Restaurant in Temecula

I came in 35 mins before close (it's a quick serve restaurant) and the lady at the counter stared at me blankly like a silent festering rage. I asked her if she was doing alright and she didn't say anything. I said are you sure? She then let me know that it's pretty late for me to be coming in (they were trying to close up since no one was coming in). I reconciled with her and let her know that sucks and made my order, which she seemed very sad to do. I guess she expected me to leave the store and not give it my business. The lady was quite large, and because of this looked a little intimidating when combined with her deadpan blank stares. She was heavyset and about 5'11. I stood there until my food was ready, then she handed it to me still silently festering like I was responsible for her torment. I said thanks and have a good night and smiled at her trying to cheer her up and be as nice and polite as possible. She just stared at me blankly, like I was this object of rage that she was trying to refrain from attacking. It felt like I was a member of a rival gang rolling up on their turf, but there's police all around so she can't do anything. If she had been having a bad night I understand, but she made it clear at the beginning that her night became bad because I was there to buy something. If that's the way your business runs then don't expect to be in business much longer. Pretty terrible customer service and I hadn't even tried my food yet. Carne asada is garbage, but chicken and shrimp are great. Shrimp taco was pretty bomb. The chicken enchilada was great, I think? It was hard to tell since most of it fell out of the box they put it in! They put their food in these odd cheap styrofoam clam shell boxes that don't even have the hole to "button" in the lid. The lid just opens up and food spills out the moment it is slightly tipped to the side, which it probably will if they give you two boxes and put them in their circular shaped bag (brilliant!) that naturally tilts the top box while you're carrying it. Loved noticing that too as I'm walking to my car with it and having to shovel it back into the box. Unfortunately by the time I got home I had a nice meat pool stewing at the bottom of the bag. At least the bag didn't leak 😅 of course they don't give you any forks to eat the enchiladas, either , so make sure you have your own silverware for when you're getting food to go! But quite honestly I'm not sure why you'd get anything to go here if the staff here just wants you to...

My wife is laughing right now as I try to text to type I keep telling her to be quiet but she keeps laughing and the food is amazing where we were. She just said she’s sorry the service was outstanding and the atmosphere was amazing. The food was to die for it was breathtaking. My wife continues to laugh looking at me all stupid like I’m psycho. She has a cat named burst. She’s listening to Perrin, Paul Paul Washington, Brazil, Leo in her Tesla that says burst mama Alberto keep up the good work. Thank you so much for your service and I will be visiting soon with my wife that knows everything who needs when I have her next to me laughing at me right now peoples livelihood on the line yet my wife is laughing And she continues to laugh. She’s laughing as we speak. If I can record this I would attach it and continues to laugh. She said she’s gonna throw up it’s not from the food. She just ran over a gopher on the road and she continues to call me stupid poor gopher. Everything on the menu looked amazing! Having been to this restraunt 2 previous times where the food was ok, not great but ok , we figured why not again . The service was terrible in an empty store at 5pm on Saturday, should have been a clue, anyway ordered food and when we got it home it was disgusting the meat tasted off what little there was and the guacamole was so old it was turning brown as I tried to eat it. No lettuce on rolled tacos. Just sad. Sorry the place is so bad now, probably why it was empty. Won't bother going here again. There are better restraunts just as...
