UPDATED Last week, we all went back to give Soho Ramen another try.. and I have to say, the service was absolutely perfect. The food was delicious as always and it all came out in a really reasonable amount of time.
About midway through our meal, the manager came out and spoke to us and apologized for the poor service last time and not being able to catch us in time. It’s clear the manager cares deeply about the quality of the restaurant and we sincerely appreciated him coming to talk to us.
Also, It was my first time trying the sea food ramen.. and it did not disappoint! So good. Thank you Soho Ramen! My family and I look forward to eating here again and again.
END OF UPDATED Had I written this review a week ago..or even a day, it'd be 4 stars easily. I come to this place a lot because their food is VERY good. I love their Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen and Chicken Karaage. The reason for the 2 stars is because tonight I received one of the worst services I've ever had anywhere...and I eat out a lot..and I mean a lot.
The service is usually on the slower side and in general the waiters/waitresses could be more attentive (side note: the bar tenders are wonderful and always provide a good experience).
Tonight a waitress I've never seen before (perhaps she is new), I believe her name was Evelyn, was incredibly rude to my wife... In fact, I've never seen anything quite like it.
When our food first came out for our kid, it was the wrong thing.. my wife told her it was the wrong thing, and she argued with her..asking us if we just want to swap it out then..we didn't want to swap anything, we just wanted what we ordered... she walked away without saying anything. About 10-15 minutes go by and we get the right item for our daughter.. things were looking up.. Until 10-15 minutes later we got the entrees for ourselves and a different waitress came out with 2 spicy miso ramens...we tried telling her didn't order 2 spicy miso ramens (only my wife ordered 1), so she set one down and took the other away..only problem..she set down the one with pork and mushrooms (my wife ordered chicken and no mushrooms)... i didn't get a good look at the other one she was holding, but I will give them the benefit of the doubt that it was my wife's actual order she took away...
so a few minutes go by and we get Evelyn's attention and tell her it's not the right ramen for my wife..the attitude from her was very rude...she even had the other waitress come out and tell us it was the right thing.. and I'm pretty sure we know what pork looks like and what chicken looks like..so it definitely wasn't the right thing...at this point, we are both pretty upset.. and a bit shocked at the rudeness of our waitress.. we've been waiting a long time, and she keeps bringing us out the wrong food, then acting like we are playing a joke on her or something...
So they finally brought out my wife's ramen after taking it back...and my tonkotsu ramen.. and believe it or not..they forgot to make my wife's spicy miso ramen..Spicy..AND it still had mushrooms.... at this point, because of the attitude of the waitress, we had enough and decided to leave instead of waiting for another fix.
Maybe this waitress was having a bad night, but her behavior was way out of line and I don't understand how management can be satisfied with that poor level of service at this restaurant where the food and drinks are actually very good.
As a last point, it was pretty disappointing that the manager didn't even come try to talk to us or offer us any sort of apology for the long wait and so many mistakes...

Read moreNOT GLUTEN FREE/FRIENDLY I'm sure their food is great but if you come here for gluten free or gluten sensitive food, you will be hugely disappointed. I was so excited to try this location because they have substitute gluten free ramen noodles for their ramen and I have Celiacs disease (gluten allergy). Upon arriving, I asked and apparently the only gluten free items they have are the plain noodles or sashimi. The ramen broth is NOT gluten free, so unless you're happy with a bowl of plain gluten free noodles, there is no ramen option. I was not happy with that so I instead ordered a tray of sashimi to share with my partner and when it was served, it was covered in multiple sauces. When I asked the waitress if the sauces were gluten free, she said no even though she had just told me that was their only other gluten free option. We ended up paying only for our drinks and the appetizer my partner had and left disappointed, embarrassed, and still hungry. I'm sure their normal food is great but if you're gonna have gluten free noodles and nothing to go with it, then what's the point? Disappointing. Update: I called because of the rude response to my review and he not only did he continue saying he doesn't have any gluten free items on the menu despite the menu i have, he also hung up on me before I was able to let him know that he can get in trouble for false advertising and misleading. I had to let a lady know in their restaurant who also ordered gluten free noodles that the broth was not gluten free and she didn't know about that! So I am not the only person who came in with these expectations because their menu states they do have gluten free ramen noodles. On top of that, I read another review of another woman who came and was misinformed about an allergen her food contained and her son ended up eating something that the staff misinformed them about. When we received the food it was not very hot but I didn't think nothing of it so we ate . we came home and both ended up on the toilet vomiting and having diarrhea it was the worst, I called these people to explain to them what had happened and they asked me to leave my name and phone number .
