After seeing the high reviews, we felt seriously disappointed with our experience. Both the customer service and the food was lacking. It was edible though and the restaurant appeared clean, so I felt it deserved more than one star. We ordered steak shawarma plates to go. Here’s what I wish I had known. -the hummus is thin, almost soupy. I prefer a creamier hummus -the steak shawarma really shouldn’t be advertised as shawarma because I swear there’s no way it’s cooked on a spit (which is the qualifier for shawarma). It’s more like chopped steak. It was thick cut a and grisly -online menu prices from their website are incorrect. Dishes are about $2 higher than what’s listed online. That was a bit of a surprise at pick up -our meals were missing the pita…which was really the only way to eat the thin hummus. I called and asked for that portion of our meal to be refunded and no apology was given, just an explanation that I could come back anytime for the pita. I explained we were on a time crunch and didn’t live on that side of town so we wouldn’t be back. No other solution was offered. Honestly, it was the worst and least authentic shawarma plate I’ve ever. But the poor service is what left the worst taste in my mouth. Maybe we ordered the wrong thing for this place, but I definitely wouldn’t recommend...
Read moreAlthough King Of Gyros establishment appeared clean, it lacked the expected shine that enhances a dining experience. The effort put forth by the staff seemed to be only at about 50%, despite my mentioning that I often leave reviews for the places I visit. Regrettably, the chicken shawarma I ordered was made with very dry, possibly day-old seasoned chicken, which was quite disappointing.
There also appeared to be a lack of understanding or distinction between Greek, Turkish, and Egyptian cuisine among the staff, which may have affected the quality of the dishes served. Additionally, the overall atmosphere felt lackluster, with a noticeable absence of enthusiasm from the employees.
Furthermore, the dryness of the chicken was a significant issue, and it's worth mentioning that I was unsure if their tzatziki sauce contained garlic, which is a crucial ingredient in traditional tzatziki and could impact the overall flavor of the dish.
I genuinely hope that on my next visit, King Of Gyros will step up their game and address these concerns. Despite this experience, I typically give a place a second chance, and I am optimistic that they will consider this feedback and strive to enhance their food quality, service, and overall dining experience for...
Read moreOne of my favorite Mediterranean Restaurants. My 2 favorite restaurants similar to this were Israeli version & unfortunately they both closed. I was very pleased when I tried this retaurant, so I wasn't so sad anymore :). They seem to have a large take out order & its semi self service. Delicious Gyro's, Greek Salads, Shwarma, tzatziki, Tahiti, & humus. My fav falafel is yummy although its got a bit of a kick with it. I observed several people ordering the Lentil Soup, so I assume that's a favored soup. Prices are fair but factor in the huge portions served, its definitely a large bang for your buck. I actually get 2 meals out of my choices; 1 to eat there & 1 to eat next day for lunch or dinner.
I feel the post about the daughter being "unfriendly" went a little to far, especially if we assume her Father is the owner. Its rude, subjective & unwarranted. The customer service by everyone working there was excellent, the daughter included who was very patient & helpful. In fact she was friendly to me. I tell everyone to try this very yummy, clean & mom & pop type...
