I'm sad to report that I had a horrible experience here tonight. I have been here several times before and loved their food. They also have a vegan and gluten free menu which is very uncommon.
My issue tonight is that I ordered a green chili beyond burger and the first one they served me was still pink and mushy and uncooked. If you're not familiar, it has a similar texture to ground beef. I rarely send my food back but it was not edible. Once I told the server, she apologized and said it was a recurring issue lately and she would have them make me a new one. Sure enough, when my meal came out again it was the exact same. My server was very kind and apologized profusely and said she would have it remade again.
Now this is where you really start to get frustrated as a manager brings me the replacement beyond burger this time and tells me he had them check the temperature on this one and he made sure it was well done and then he has the audacity to ask me if I'm familiar with Beyond burgers, as if it was cooked properly and I mistakenly sent back two burgers.... I'm a lifelong vegetarian and frequently eat these burgers and I have never had a beyond or impossible burger seved to me raw until tonight, but regardless of my previous experience, you would think he might even check with the waitress before assuming, because even she could see how raw it was. Anyways, back to the food. At first glance this beyond burger looked cooked on both sides but after taking a few bites it was still raw in the middle. Instead of complaining and waiting another 15-20 minutes (for the 3rd time) for them to likely bring me another raw beyond burger I just paid and left.
I would highly recommend these chefs make themselves a beyond burger to understand for themselves, because eating it raw is disgusting and not anybodys preference. Just because it's made of vegetables doesn't mean you don't have to cook it all the way through. Needless to say, as much as I like Pedal Haus, and for all the times I've been here before without any issue, tonight was such a bad experience that I will not come...
Read moreI ate here for a quick meal before heading into a movie next door. Seeing the only 3.5-star rating, I hesitant to stop in but the convenience won me over.
There was an Arizona vs. ASU game so the place was packed to the gills with rowdy sports fans. Luckily, I found a spot at the bar. This whole place has ample in/outdoor bar seating, regular tables, and cabanas.
Unhindered by the crowd, a server took our order and got our beers straight away. For dinner, I ordered the ‘fancy burger’ which is a mushroom & swiss variety served with thick style fried chips. The food couldn’t have been served much faster than it physically took to cook; service was extremely fast! The burger and bun were both moist with good flavor; chips were hot and crispy. Nothing foofoo, just solid pub food.
Complimenting the meal was their in-house, or should I say “in-haus,” Bourbon Barrel Aged Quad. True to quadruple beers, it was on the dark and strong side but not in a distracting way. Aged in Four Roses barrels, the bourbon flavor really comes through prominently. This beer quickly became one of my all-time favorites, which drew me to eat there the next day.
The next night I ordered the half rack of ribs. They are decent-sized pork ribs cooked in Carolina style BBQ and came with a Caesar side salad and mac & cheese. I am generally not a fan of Carolina style but these ribs and accompanying side sauce had an elegant flavor profile (vs. the cleaning vinegar and cheap mustard tasting sauce I’ve had at other places). Mac & cheese fans will enjoy the rich and creamy texture resulting from the use of real cheese here.
Being a brewery, one ought to expect that their primary focus is beer, however the food quality doesn’t suffer. Along with the fast, friendly service, the atmosphere is unique, modern, and fun. They have plenty of TVs/sports games on and free WiFi to boot.
The only negative was that they don’t sell growlers of the bourbon quad, wish they’d reconsider☹ I recommend this place if you’re looking for an unpretentious meal and/or a good place to hang out and...
Read moreAbsolute worst customer service experience ever. Went in last Saturday (9/17) with my friends and ordered drinks. The manager came back and accused me of having a fake ID. Keep in mind I’m well over 21 and have not ever had issues like this as my ID is absolutely real. Despite the accusation, I politely asked her to check again, only to be responded with a very disrespectful and rude tone by this manager, who refused to check my id again. I thought this was weird and was a little bit annoyed, but I decided that it was fine and I didn’t need to order any drinks; I was just trying to watch the game with my friends. Around a half hour later, the manager comes back once again, and says she’s kicking me out, and she’s gonna call security to come get me. Keep in mind, this whole time my friends and I were just chilling and minding our own business, not causing any sort of trouble at all. I tried to explain to her once again that I am well over 21, and that my ID was absolutely real. However, she continues to refuse in listening and says she wants me out of there with an even more disrespectful tone. Finally, the security guard came to escort me out. I calmly explained my situation to him and showed him my ID. After taking a look at it, even he admitted that it was real, and apologized for having to kick us out because it was the manager’s orders to do so. I have no issue with any of the employees that night besides the manager that caused all this. It’s crazy how despite being respectful this whole time, we were still met with blatant disrespect. I personally work in customer service and if I were to treat a customer the way I was treated that night, I would either be fired or reprimanded heavily, no excuses. The terrible customer service by this manager led to us all leaving and losing our business the rest of the night. I will never come back to this place, which is extremely unfortunate because I used to...
