From the moment we stepped inside Twin Locos Kitchen, we felt right at home. The modern setup is relaxed and stylish, but the magic lies in the food. They are open until 4 AM, making it the perfect late-night stop.
Twins personally helped us out and made sure we were taken care of. The hospitality here is something you do not forget. They treated us like family from start to finish and made sure we had everything we needed.
We kicked things off with their house-made Kool-Aid (I went with the frozen version) and jumped straight into fried catfish that tasted miles away from Arizona, flaky, crispy, and full of Southern soul. The Lemon Pepper and Mango Habanero wings were both perfectly balanced and flavorful. Sides like collard greens had that deep, slow-cooked richness, while the mac and cheese hit that cozy note, creamy without going overboard.
Dessert was the perfect ending. The banana pudding and peach cobbler with ice cream were simply amazing. Every bite tasted homemade and full of love.
What really ties it together is the heart behind the counter. You can sense the passion, and the hospitality shines brighter than the Arizona sun. Twin Locos is not just another spot. It is a vibe, and one worth revisiting. Highly...
Read moreWow!!! This place will bring you back to eating at home or your grandma's as a child, especially if you are southern style! I haven't had homemade mac n cheese that good or a homemade sloppy joe (not from a can!) ever and that good! Sloppy joe meat was a little greasy but so tender and well-balanced, not overly sweet or too salty! Seasoning on French fries is awesome and very similar texture and style compared to In N Out (but with really good seasoning)! Husband ordered the cheeseburger and loved it (as did I after trying it)! Thick patty, flavorful, bread on both sandwiches rounded out these great choices! I ordered the fried catfish and even though I prefer cod, I would definitely order this fried fish again from this place! It was portioned well, not overly breaded or over fried, was so good with the tarter sauce and paired well with the seasoned fries. Mac n Cheese definitely goes well with sloppy joe so i recommend ordering the two together. Highly recommend, was $35 for all of our food plus a beverage. Super friendly service, soul music is very fitting for the food and the rustic decor makes this dining experience a breath...
Read moreFirst let me say that the food here is absolutely amazing; the collard greens alone are top tier, but the Mac and cheese and catfish are absolute standouts. That's why it hurts to give this place such a low rating, but I feel that the way this place is being managed will severely hurt it in the long term and I really want to see this place succeed.
The first time I went, it took an hour to get my food. We were told that the reason it took so long that they needed to get fresh ingredients; the food was so good when it came out that I was willing to let it slide, but my next attempted experience to eat there made me want to mention it.
The next time I went, it was at night. The lighting was so dark that we thought the place was closed at first. I had my mom with me, so we opted not to eat there since it was hard to even see the menu. . The food is great, but service needs to be expedient and the atmosphere should be inviting; don't make it too dark or too loud; when people are eating good food they wish to enjoy each...
