Visited on 08/30/2025 Ordered: Beef Lemongrass Vermicelli, Meatball Pho, Kids Beef & Meatball Phõ, Papaya Salad, Spring Roll, and a Grill Pork Ban Mi I realized that we’ve been coming to this restaurant for about 6yrs. When we started, our son was 2-3yrs old and all he could handle was phõ. Now he’s 8 and able to enjoy everything. As always, this place is phenomenal and since we moved to Georgetown, we stop by here any time we’re in the area. One of our favorite dishes is the Papaya Salad. We’ve had it from many places but to this day, there is no place that can match the balance of flavors like La Dalat does. This will always be our FAVORITE Vietnamese Restaurant. If you really like quality Vietnamese food, La Dalat IS the spot! Visited on 11/7/2019 Ordered the Spring Rolls, Imperial Rolls, Papaya Salad, and Beef Phõ. The first thing I noticed was the atmosphere and cleanliness. This place is kept up pretty well and the atmosphere was welcoming. The Spring Rolls were served with a peanut sauce. They were really tasty and fresh. The touch of French onion was cool. The Imperial Rolls were also very good and they were served over basil and greens with a bit of noodles. The Papaya salad was my favorite appetizer and was really very zesty and was served with shrimp. Delicious. The main entree was the Beef Phõ and it was a great selection considering we went on a cooler night. The broth was very well balanced and also served with the staple cilantro, pepper, and sprouts. I would also have like to see some basil on the plate, but otherwise, it hit the spot. If you really enjoy quality Vietnamese and want a clean and comfortable atmosphere, this is the best place I’ve been to in Temple.

The staff was wonderful and the food was even better. We were welcomed immediately with a friendly smile even though we were cutting it close on the 3 pm close by showing up at 2:30 on a Friday. Not once did any member of the staff rush us and instead made sure we felt welcome at all times. Now let’s get to the food. The Bánh mì bread was crisp and airy and the sandwich was a great combination overall. There were two stars of the show the first being the Hú Tiéu Pho also known as the Special Pho with Char siu pork, shrimp, chicken, and quail eggs. The broth was strong with aromatic flavors. The Bún Bò Nuóng which translates to Grilled lemongrass beef rolls was one of the best dishes we have ever had a Vietnamese restaurant. Talk about packed with flavors and cooked perfectly. We were very happy with our experience and will back soon to enjoy again.

This is a great Vietnamese restaurant in downtown Temple. It's in the former Dibz building. If you haven't had good Vietnamese food, I highly recommend it. The service is fantastic by both the owners and the staff. It's a warm and casual place great for lunch and dinner. They serve the traditional Vietnamese dishes like crispy fried egg rolls, pho (beef broth and noodles swimming with chargrilled meats, meatballs, and veggies), vermicelli (think pho without the broth), and banh mi (chargrilled beef, pork, or chicken sandwiches on baguette with mayo and veggies). I recommend them all! The prices are very reasonable. Street parking is available adjacent to the restaurant. Don't be afraid to try Vietnamese food! It's influenced by French cuisine and is not spicy like its Thai cousins (unless you want it that way!).

The food was ok with the exception of the egg rolls. My server who was an older gentleman was pleasant. The individual at the cash register at the end of the evening was neither friendly or welcoming. When I was entering the restaurant initially to check out the inside prior to my companion arriving, the same individual who was at the cash register at the end of the night was ahead of me. We were both entering the restaurant at the same time. He was outside standing around for a few minutes when I was sitting my car. He might have been smoking or just getting some fresh air. I do not recall if he was smoking. He did not hold the door as I entered into the restaurant behind him. He also didn't smile and appeared overall unfriendly. This individual was a short gentleman, of Vietnamese decent. This same individual initially came over to my table to take the order. He asked if me and my companion were familiar with the dishes. We responded no. He did not offer to help but instead walked away to give us time to decide. The older gentleman who ended up serving us was more outgoing and friendly. The area of the restaurant where the guests sit to dine was presentable. The front of the restaurant and cashier area was a bit unkept, with cooking utensils on display in an unorganized and untidy manner. I would not revisit or recommend this place. I have eaten at other Vietnamese restaurants, and the experience was positively different. You're in the businesses of customer service. Smile, say hello and do not behave as though you're doing paying customers a favor. My meals are mostly home made and I occasionally eat out, so when I do, a good experience...

If you're male you're more than welcomed at this place. Females be wary. I've gone twice to La Dalat. The first time I really didn't feel too welcomed, but I was ordering anyways because it was recommended from a friend. So, as I ordered I told him they were highly recommended by this male friend, but apparently, they thought I was ordering for the male friend. The food was okay. I'm not from around these parts but this was the first restaurant I encountered serving spring rolls around Temple. So, I figured I'll give them a second chance and went back. Again, very uninviting in comparison to all the males who walk in. I ordered the same thing as the first visit without "dropping" my male friend's name. The portions...What a difference it made from my first visit...when they thought it was for my male friend. this time the spring rolls were thin and the portions weren't as satisfying as the first visit. Unfortunate, because we're loyal customers when we find a GREAT place. There are too many other restaurants to try out- now that I drove around there and saw a few to try- otherwise, they would've had several loyal customers from this group if customer service...
