This was the absolute worst brunch experience in my life. It took 10 min to even be acknowledged and seated (servers looked at us but didn't bother to seat us and we stood next to the sign saying to wait to be seated). Honestly, the entire time we were there we got this really terrible service like we were annoying them just by being there. After we were seated and ordered it took another 45 minutes to get the food. We were excited and understand they are busy on weekend brunch so didn't mind waiting in anticipation. However, after waiting for forever, the food came out COLD. Potatoes were tasting old and stale, waffles tasted like they were reheated from the freezer being super cold, hard on the outside, and clay like inside. We informed our server who was grumpy the entire time and ignored us and acted like she hated her job and hates us as well. When we told her, she said that's just how the waffles are, they are dense, but they could make it again. After waiting so long, we didn't wanna wait again so we said to just get the check. Another guy then came and asked what was wrong with the waffle. Wr told him and he just took it in his hand (not with the plate, just the waffle), inspected it, and took it back to the kitchen. The lady server then came and said that they took it back to the kitchen to show the chef cuz he keeps messing up orders/cooking and they have been getting a lot of complaints. This was after she first said there is no prob with it, that's just how they are, she now agreed that they were not cooked well but didn't care. She gave us the bill and we left hungry, irritated, and like we wasted a good chunk of our Sunday and a good amount of money for food we couldn't eat and service that was extremely slow, uninviting, and made us feel like we were bothering them with our presence. They didn't even offer to take it off the bill (usually if you are ready to remake the dish and we say it's okay, it's standard to remove it or at least offer to), didn't show any concern with our dissatisfaction, and straight our didn't care about us. They don't know how to treat customers and also don't know how to cook (which they openly admitted). Don't waste your time or money. We will never make the mistake of coming back. We usually give second chances if we aren't too satisfied with a place, but here, never again. If y'all don't care about us, we don't care about your business. I hope you take this feedback constructively and do better for your other customers because nobody should have to go...
Read moreA Hidden Gem with Heart and Flavor – Water Street Waffle Co.
As a military family constantly on the move, it’s rare to find a place that feels like home—but Water Street Waffle Co. delivered just that and more. Tucked away with charm and character, this cozy breakfast spot offers comfort, warmth, and a touch of refined Southern flair that’s hard to come by.
We started with the chicken and waffles, and let me tell you—this dish was a revelation. The batter on the chicken was crisped to perfection, savory and seasoned with intention, and the waffle it rested on was airy yet rich, subtly sweet and undeniably crafted with care. It was the kind of dish that had me calling my mama mid-bite.
The drinks sealed the deal. Refreshing mimosas, a surprisingly well-curated beer selection, and real espresso pulled from a professional-grade machine right at the bar—every sip hit just right. Whether you’re winding down from a long week or easing into your weekend, they’ve got you covered.
But what truly makes this place special? The staff. Warm, witty, and genuinely passionate, they’re the soul of this establishment. You can tell they love what they do and care deeply about the community they serve. It’s the kind of hospitality that stays with you.
Water Street Waffle Co. isn’t just a breakfast spot—it’s an experience. Flavorful, inviting, and full of heart. If you’re looking for a place that feels like a warm hug with food that feeds the soul, this is it.

Read moreDO NOT DO TAKE OUT OR DELIVERY. DINE IN
It’s really unfortunate that these restaurants are so poorly managed because the food is delicious! Never do take out or delivery. Always dine in at these restaurants. You might wait a long time but I promise take out or delivery will fail 9 times out of 10. We have tried it multiple times and it’s never worked out for us. Read on for our latest experience with take out.
We placed an order online and paid $60+ dollars. We were called and told by a very timid young man that it was too busy and they could not fill take out orders and that maybe we could try again in 30 minutes. We were irritated but just said “well ok will we get a refund?” The young man didn’t say anything for a solid 30 seconds so we hung up. We called back a few minutes later. No answer. Understandable if they are busy. We called back about 15 minutes after that and got a different person on the phone. We asked the same question. “We were told our order can’t be filled will/how are we going to be refunded?” After multiple minutes of back and forth “what’s your name? What’s the order number? When did you place the order?” The new person said “oh your order is done.” …… Then why were we told it wouldn’t be filled….
This is not the first time we have experienced something like this with these restaurants. This is just the latest example. SO do yourself a favor and order take out from Meg’s Cafe OR dine in with...
