J Kowboy Wine Bar — Restaurant in Temple

This was our first visit, and I regret to report that we were not impressed with the atmosphere or service here at J Kowboy.

The wine list lacked varietal and regional information and the “charcuterie” was a pile of sliced sausage and a pile of cut cheddar with some crackers that were open to the elements a bit too long.

Also, the gentleman waiting on us (although very nice) did not seem to know how to open a bottle of wine.

On a positive note, the furniture was comfortable and I enjoyed the creative taxidermy mounted on the walls. I would recommend a revision of the wine list and perhaps some background music to match the atmosphere...

This place is quaint and relaxing! Came for First Friday and got some cheesecake too! Mmmm! The sweet wines, my favorites, were delicious, and DH was Happy with the beer selection. They have books, and I think games, really comfy seating and the bartender was really nice too. I highly recommend...

A cozy wine bar in downtown Temple is what we found here. Everyone was friendly, and wine selections were very good and reasonable. And you can get food from next door at LA Delat delivered, which is also excellent. We had a mini party get-together there and had a blast. Great place to chill...
